“Work is running me ragged,” Holland said, shaking her head at Aspen. “I’m there like, twelve hours a day. There’s no way I’m going from set to the production trailers back and forth in a set of heels. And I’m not like -- going anywhere else,” she said, rambling through her tenth excuse of the day. There was no way Holland was wearing heels, let alone trying any on. Her feet hurt, her back hurt, her centre of balance was off even when she was flat on the ground -- heels were a no go. Just like having drinks with lunch. Just like trying on slinky, form fitting dresses. Holland had been saying no all day long. “I will happily drop a million dollars on something reasonable, but those are not going to happen,” she argued, nixing the shoes Aspen was holding in her direction.
