born and raised in aspen,jessica has always been surrounded by beauty, wealth, and expectation. everyone in town remembers her as the girl who was going to “make it big.”
she was raised in a close-knit, supportive household with well-off parents and ezra, her older brother. while she knows they’re proud of her, she still carries the weight of comparison.
jessica was the high school valedictorian, with perfect grades, a packed extracurricular schedule, and constant striving to stay on top. she was the kind of girl teachers bragged about to their classes.
once pre-med, she was even accepted into a program, but burned out quickly. dropping out felt like ripping off the mask. to this day, she’s not sure if it was bravery or self-sabotage. the only thing that made sense in the aftermath was art. something she’d always loved quietly but never let herself chase.
