Taylor was diagosed as having Asperger's at age 2. Taylor explains on her website her journey from diagnosis and being unable to communicate to her development into an advocate, college graduate and athlete.
Taylor has some great insights through videos she has made for parents and other people living with Asperger's from questions submitted to her website. Taylor's parents were told when she was 2 that she would not be able to talk or communicate, Taylor's story is an important one on the importance of persistence and as Talyor describes it "hope".
This 2 part video is a great reference for sector workers, families and individuals living with Asperger's. In the arguement for individualsed supports Taylors story highlights the flexibility in support needed when working with other who communicate differently. Taylors video's makes evident the benefits and importance of persistence in finding different ways of communicating and supporting an individual in order to support them in a life which makes sense to them.
