I like trying to figure out symbolism in games even though it probably doesn’t intentionally mean anything.

I did some researching! I was confused at first, because the most popular associations seemed to be joy, luck, fortune, and perseverance. But then I started seeing more associations with community, family, love, friendship, and devotion.

There’s also a Japanese fable about sparrows called “Shita-kiri Suzume”. It’s a story about greed, friendship, and jealousy. Which may have relevance, but I haven’t finished watching the game yet! I will be back if my theories are true.
