@Regrann from @really_rosieee____ - **Let me just say this BEFORE I get a speech about patriotism...I come from a military family...I'm an Army brat...both of my parents were in the Army, my dad has a Purple Heart and almost lost his life in Desert Storm...my brother is a Marine and was one of the first units deployed after 9/11...my grandfather is a highly decorated WWII vet...my uncles have served in the Navy...and I have friends that have lost their lives fighting for our country...for our freedoms, for Kaepernick's RIGHT to stand (kneel) for what he believes in...** NOWWWWWWW for the true purpose of this post: people look at Kaepernick's actions and get pissed about "the message" that it sends to veterans about their sacrifice...I'm curious why more people aren't PISSED about the message Brock Turner's sentencing sends to rape victims...this is a slap in the face to his victim and only ONE of the many reasons why most rape victims don't come forward...they are violated by their attacker and violated by the system (God only knows how many times) before charges are ever pressed (IF charges are pressed)... If we are saying the 49ers organization forfeited it's "privilege" of police protection by allowing Kaepernick to think for himself, stand as an individual against an unjust system or bringing awareness to HUGE problem in our country right now, what message are we sending to our children?
