So like, I've been thinking about something I see a lot and I guess I don't understand it? When people are like "I prefer to date people of *race that is different than their own*, it doesn't really make sense to me. Like, I can see when a black person says they only like dating black people, or a Latin@ only dating latin@, (or even white people only dating white people). There are things that don't need to be brought up in any uncomfortable ways when you're with someone with the same race as you. But when people are like ” I just wanna date Asian guys” or “I just prefer white people” I don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against them, but I don’t get the reasoning behind it. (If there is any) I’m sure a lot of people have some fucked up fetishized reasons why they’d want to (targeted POC pacifically) but I can’t think of any non-problematic reasons to narrow it down to any one other race. What do you all think?
