Welt Yang: Portrait/Drawing
One of your favorite activities to do as a couple is Sip and Paint. Before every date, you would each choose a topic or item for the other person to paint, and that person has to paint it from memory on the night of the date, which leads to a chaotic night as the both of you would try to finish your paintings almost half-drunk. It only ends when both sides of the party are done.
For this night, March 7th gave a suggestion of painting each other from memory, something that you both had already thought of doing before, but now you had a further push to do so.
You and Welt both agreed that you would help each other out by showing each other's faces during the date, but you both had to remain back-to-back for an extra ten minutes, you could only ask for help three times, and no peeking at the other person’s canvas.
Thankfully, you both had great enough memories to remember what the other person looked like, but of course, you had asked for help because you couldn’t remember how long the white streak in his hair was, which seems like a lie just to see him, but Welt let it slide.
Curling your finger in his hair, you measured his streak with your pinkie, mumbling under your breath on how you didn’t notice just how white it is.
Welt laughs, your fingers brushing against his forehead. Though he was shuffling in his seat, making sure you couldn’t look at his painting, you did notice how his wine glass seemed to have not been touched at all.
With a nod, you gave him a kiss as thanks before turning around and going back to the portrait. Welt let out a deep breath of relief as you had done so, he couldn’t let his surprise go noticed this early, he had to make sure that he had you perfectly.
Especially when it’s your face and his question that needs to be perfect.
Soon, you were done with his portrait, but you realized Welt wasn’t yet, and usually you were both done around the same time, so you decided to wait, sipping some wine while doing so.
And… “Done.” Welt says, placing the paint brush in the cup of paint water. You immediately pushed yourself off of his back, placing your wine glass down, and grabbed your painting, turning it around so the main piece of it is against your chest.
“Ready to turn?” You asked him.
Welt nods even though you can’t see him. “Ready. 3… 2… 1.”
You both then turned around to face the other, smiling, and then turned your paintings. Your painting was, of course, of Welt Yang from the neck up. His glasses, and the signature white hair streak were immediate stand outs, with the background being Welts imaginary void that he does to imprison all enemies at the same time, it’s really helpful during battle. There was also the Astral Express riding the void, and some anime characters that Welt drew.
When you look at the portrait that Welt has done of you, you couldn’t help but notice how he got everything about your face perfectly without asking for help. Your nose is perfectly lined to the T, your face proportions are the same and even anything on your face that you're insecure of is there, like it’s made to be there.
Around your portrait were words that you had finally finished reading when Welt pulled out a ring box from his painter’s apron.
‘Will you marry me?’ were the words written around your portrait.
“Will you marry me?” Welt repeats the question, staring at you expectedly.
“Yes.” You breathed out, quickly placing your portrait of him at your side, bringing your hands up over your mouth. “Yes.”
Welt smiled, tears welling up in his eyes as he placed the portrait of you at his side and sliding your ring on your finger. As he did, you both could hear cheers coming from outside of the door, the only people it could be are the members of the Astral Express.
“How long have they been out there?” You asked, laughing as you wiped your tears before reaching out and wiping Welt’s.
Welt laughs, grabbing your hand. “It doesn’t matter.” He says, pulling you into a tearful hug.
You can feel the wedding proposal song coming to an end, Serval breathing heavily into the mic before speaking again. “Will you marry me, [F/N]?” She asks you, then moves the mic over to you, to hear you.
Leaning forward into the mic, you gave your answer. “Yes!”
Serval pulled the mic back to her and yelled into it. “They said yes!” Cheers erupted from the crowd around you, the loudest ones of the night. Serval jumps up and down on stage, excited and happy, high-fiving with her bandmates before jumping from the stage and going towards you for a hug.
You hugged her as tightly as you could once she was in your arms, even though her guitar was in the way a bit, it didn’t stop you from the excitement and thrill to come over your body.
Serval pulls away before going into her pocket and pulling out a black engagement band/ring with geomarrow crystals that were dyed purple around the middle. She holds the ring out to you.
“If you would do me the honor of placing this ring on your left hand.” Serval says to you, the crowd is still cheering behind you.
You nod to her. “Yes.” You then held out your left hand to her. Holding your hand in hers, she slowly slides the ring onto you.
Once it was fully on, she leaned forward and kissed you. You raised a hand to cup her cheek as you returned the kiss before pulling away, smiling. You then heard the sound of someone crying, so you turned your head over to see Gepard, crying.
“Are you okay, Gepard?” You asked out of concern as his face was turning red, making Serval turn her head.
She immediately cooed, reaching over to pull him into the hug. “Aw, is little Geppie sad that his big sister found someone before him?”
He scoffs, quickly wiping his eyes. “N-no.” He sniffles. “I’m just happy you finally found someone for you.”
Serval runs a hand through his hair as she looks at you. She did finally find someone. She found someone that didn’t turn her away, that didn’t reject her, that didn’t rip her heart out and tore it into millions of pieces. She found someone who looked her way, accepted her, and helped repair her heart while also giving her time and space to heal.
She found somebody that she can’t lose, and that won’t lose themselves along the way.
“Me too, Geppie.” Serval said, watching you give her brother a handkerchief before you turned back to her with a knowing look and smile. “Me too.
With being a lead researcher in your field, you spend a lot of time with your team, researching in your specialized fields of interest. When you are not researching, you spend your time with Asta and Peppy, accompanying Asta with her research work, or just helping out taking care of Peppy together.
Speaking of Peppy, Asta likes to use him as a messenger of sorts between the two of you, instead of just messaging through your phones, to allow Peppy to have his walk. Of course, Arlan is usually a few steps behind Peppy, making sure he doesn’t get lost.
Today is no different, as you heard the sound of the doors to your research department open and close, before hearing little steps and a bark coming from behind you. Looking down by your feet, Peppy looks up at you with his usual puppy smile before barking again. You see on his collar was a note that you immediately knew was from Asta.
Placing your clipboard down on the table, you bend down to the white dog, rubbing his ears before pulling the note out of his collar and unraveling it.
Do you like me? [yes] or [no]
You laughed softly as you read the note. Reaching to your clipboard, you slid your pen off the clip, before clicking it and checking off your answer of a yes.
With the note rolled up again, you slid it back into Peppy’s collar then rubbed his head before giving him a doggy treat.
“Good boy.” You told him. “Be careful on your way back.”
Peppy lets out another bark before using his small legs to leave the room, the door opening and closing for him.
Not much time has passed until you hear the familiar bark again. Pulling the note from Peppy’s collar, you read it to yourself.
Do you love me? [yes] or [no]
Checking off the yes, you placed the note back in Peppy’s collar and sent him back on his way with a doggy treat.
Soon after some time, you hear the door opening and closing again, turning around immediately to see Peppy, who barked as your eyes locked.
But Peppy wasn’t the only one that was there, with Asta at his side, smiling at you with a somewhat bashful look.
Tilting your head in confusion, but overall happy to see her presence, you watch her turn to Peppy.
“Okay, you can give, Peppy.” She said to her dog. You can also see Arlan peeking up from behind with a smile on his face and his phone out. Herta was also next to him, with a smug look on her face.
Peppy barks in response before walking up to you. You turned your head to look at your research mates. Some were smiling from ear-to-ear, some were trying not to cry, and some also had their phones out, probably recording.
Peppy’s bark brought you out of your thoughts, making you quickly bend down and pull the note from his collar. You turn to the people around you with a confused look as you stand. You then turn your head to Asta, who looks at you with a nervous look on her face, but her lovely smile is still present, in assurance.
Giving her a small smile, you opened up the note, reading the contents of it carefully.
Will you marry me? [yes] or [no]
Feeling tears well up in your eyes, you quickly checked off your answer before sliding the note into Peppy’s collar and giving him some scratches, making sure no tears could get on the note.
Standing back up, you quickly wiped your tears to watch Peppy trot back over to Asta, who had an opened ring box in her hand, something you didn’t notice she had when she first came in.
Asta bends down to Peppy, rubbing behind his ears and giving him a treat, before taking the note from his collar. She opens the note as she stands, immediately covering her mouth as tears threaten to come through her eyes.
“Yes!” Asta exclaimed through her tears, getting immediate cheers from your workmates as you both met in the middle in a teary-eyed hug. Peppy clawed at your leg, wanting to get in the hug as well.
Quickly separating from Asta, you bent down and picked up Peppy before hugging Asta again, Peppy licking both of your cheeks in obvious excitement.
