yay, i love those guys! i may have picked a bad time to ask for requests (i'm traveling and will be busy for pretty much the rest of this week) but they'll get done within a couple weeks hopefully!

i think a lot of people assume that acknowledging covid is still a major issue would mean going back to early 2020 lockdowns. when that is just not the case at all

we know a lot more about how covid spreads now (primarily aerosols, not droplets) and have effective and well-studied mitigation tools (high-quality respirators, air filtration, increased air flow) that don't require you to significantly alter your life and routine

like literally if we just made masking and air purifiers the norm in public spaces, it would save so many lives and make these spaces so much more accessible

more than anything else, this update is making me confused. as in, who came up with this, and why was it determined to be a good idea, and how did they come to this conclusion?

i can only assume it's to increase profits by making it more similar to other popular social media and therefore (hypothetically) more appealing, but you would think the people running the site would have some idea of how the culture and community of the site functions and say "hey this just isn't the kind of social media where that's going to work"

i'm having knee surgery tomorrow (context about why) so if i post something weirder than normal it's probably due to anesthesia. but feel free to interact with it/have a conversation with me because i love going back and seeing the shit i said on anesthesia
