There's two official remakes. The one just announced and the 3DS version. Heaven forbid the new generation of gamers out there get a version that isn't hard to chase down or insanely costly due to it being on older hardware. It's not like it's been treated like fucking Skyrim. 🤣
yes, that is more then one remake. they're also remaking starfox again. whether or not you like those games, whether you want to play them again, whether you think the remakes we have already are good or not, all irrelevant to the opinion.
every media industry is oversaturated with remakes now. this is not a video game only problem. its everywhere. and its boring. i just think think there should be new stuff. its 2026 and this is not an uncommon or unreasonable option. why does the "new generation of gamers" not deserve new stories?
also kids can play old games, what is this stigma around that? and for free no less if they have access to a pc.
also nintendo is the one making their games hard to chase down by keeping them in the vault. like can you not play OoT on their subscription service?
also the old hardware is not the only thing that's insanely costly. $500 is, especially in this economy, not a small amount of money. most ppl cannot afford to buy every new console that comes out. along with what these games are now being priced at? never going on sale? should the "new generation of gamers" only consist of kids from high income families? this isnt really a discussion about money anyways.
also i'm not a member of the "new generation" or a parent of one so that doesn't have much to do with me and is not a main factor in my personal preferences and opinions.
