MONOBEAR THEATRE - THIS IS YOUR FATE!
As the last words of Nikki Hera left their mouth, you could hear the voice of Monokuma echoing with a loud laughter, as they prepared to send the Astrologer to their death.
"Well, let's execute this murderer, shall we?" He chuckled from his seat, "Will the stars be on your side, or against you? Kyahahaha!"
The area Nikki found themselves in was quiet and peaceful; creepily so when put in context with their situation. The astrologer had been placed in a garden, empty of reassuring features such as birdsong. Before them was a tree, or what was left of it, a thin item awaiting them on the sawn off stump: a horoscope magazine, words and familiar symbols visible to Nikki as the magazine lay in an open position. Illuminating the scene was a camp already set alight, the crackling of the fire providing the only sound other than Nikki’s shaky breathing.
Be it curiosity, be it a desire to speed the execution up and get this over with, Nikki crossed the garden to go to the tree stump, shaking hands picking up the glossy booklet to see what lay within. What would it be? What did the stars have in mind? Nikki’s eyes were drawn to their own sign, the entry for Scorpio jumping out from the pages in comparison to the others.
SCORPIO: A succession of bad lucks will get to you until your death.
Nikki barely had a chance to let the words sink in nor read over them again before the magazine dropped from their hands, a large wince enhancing the look of terror already present on their face- without the astrologer noticing, the fire from the firecamp had started to spread, flames already searing the grass and lapping around their feet as it snaked towards them. Blistering heat shot up their legs and singed their skin, the pain only enhanced by Nikki’s repeated attempts to stamp the fire out. The flames were relentless- every time Nikki stamped one flame out three more would take its place, the tree stump and magazine starting to become caught in its burning and producing smoke that burnt their lungs as they screamed and swore.
It was as Nikki was coughing, shaking their head as though to try and clear the smoke that they saw it- a lake not too far away, the water surface calm in comparison to the frantic scene at the tree stump.
Any other thoughts they had were abandoned, smoke trailing after Nikki as they sprinted towards the pool. The stamping of their feet against the ground as they ran did nothing to put out the flames still clinging to Nikki, light blurring through the air as Nikki sprang forwards and dived to break the water’s surface.
Only it wasn’t water; that much was clear from the very instant Nikki’s alight foot touched the dark substance. Their eyes widened as the ‘water’ burst into flames at their shoe’s very touch, the lake being deeper than they thought and only rising in height as inch after inch of it burst into flames. Nikki was soon struggling to keep their head up and swim in fire, movements slowing down as they tried to move their arms and legs through whatever thick substance remained fire free. As smoke and tears started to blind them, skin being assaulted with heat they’d never known before, Nikki saw the source of the ‘lake’: an oil drum, positioned in such a way that it had been hidden until this final, fatal moment.
They could struggle no more, the volatile combination consuming Nikki completely, the final corners of the horoscope magazine being burnt away in the distance as Nikki was lost to the oil and fire.
Nikki Hera, SHSL Astrologist Expert, has been executed.
