“You’re so much different when we’re alone.”
. late nights . . @astraquill .
THE OBSERVATION ISN’T UNTRUE, despite how much he would protest it. he hasn’t been traveling with them LONG, nay, and in that time he has come to get to KNOW some of them better than others. STILL: there is a certain SWAGGER to him, a bold irreverence: it’s a persona, to be certain — this once-prince, once-king, heir to a kingdom of stardust and a shattered pantheon.
BUT HERE, when the ship is mostly quiet and there’s only the heavy thrum of the engines against the endless soundless dark of space — when there are not so many EYES upon him and his OWN expectations of himself can fall, he lets that persona fall. bit by bit, the smallest and most miniscule cracks beginning to form in this armor that he’s so dutifully built around raw insecurities for the last handful of years. and in those glimpses?
HE GLANCES UP, the glimmer of a single eye catching peter’s. the conversation has been casual, easy, over nothing in PARTICULAR - planets, travel, ODDITIES in the galaxy ( of which there are many! ) — but he’d been open and less — just less, and the comment draws a huff. ❛ i don’t know what you’re talking about. i am me. who else would i be? ❜
