Hey friends! Just a small update, but since the beginning of december my Tablet was super super dead so I couldn't get much progress done even when I had time to work on pages.

But that's finally changed!! I now have my new tablet set up and I'm so excited to get drawing again 🥰

I still want to build up a small backlog before I start posting pages again, and I do intend to respond to any asks I've recieved in the meantime, but this is just an excited lil update from me! Hopefully with my new set up I'll find working on pages easier, I'll need to experiment a bit. especially since its been a while 😅

Oh I had so much fun drawing everyone's kitties and trying out this style on so many varied and beautiful designs 🥰 I drew them all smiling because I want all these characters to flourish and be happy🥺

Fogpool is the founder of @cycloneclangen - I adore his gorgeous flowing fur and design, hes so stylish even when its so dang wimdy, the design always stuck out the first time I saw it. I'm looking forward to seeing how he survives on his own after the storm!!

Piperdapple is the fluffiest warrior of @sporeclan whomst design is one of my FAVOURITEs with the poofy fur and striped tail, but I also love her childish whimsy!! Looking forward to seeing her litter soon 😍 Sporeclan is so unpredictable with its mean rng qwq Fogfreckle is the wonderful deputy and brother of @nimbusclan 's leader, and I've always loved his design!! Clangen's heart pattern pelt becoming clouds is so creative, his eyes are so bright and augh- I'm so worried for this lil cat after the last update. He better be oKAY!

Velociraptor is a newer member of @clangenthriftclan that I just spent today reading and wowow I love the story of this comic. The style is wonderfully varied with the shape and expressions and it compliments the story so well - its a really long running clangen which is so inspiring to me. Definitely following for more ouo

Coniferheart is the deputy of Gravelclan, the starring story of @passing-moments !! I just read through this story too and I'm so interested to see more of the character's backstories and about that strange white kitty who gifted those 9 lives 👀

And last but not least! Shadestar the leader of @tidalclan I love the style of Tidalclan so much, there's so much personality in all the characters, and the journey from being 2 apprentices and a kit to a full clan is always so fun and interesting 🥺The latest lore drop was ough

It's felt so nice having a real drawing muse again after months of nothing, I can't wait to get drawing more pages (also because then I get to play more and see what happens to my lil guys)

hey! i’ve been following this comic for a few months, and its been a little while since you’ve posted, so i was just wondering if you were taking a little hiatus? i really am interested in the clangen style and i would love to see how it continues!

Hello!! Thanks for being a follower and the kind words 🥰I hope you've been enjoying it!!

And yeah I'm on a little haitus, I've had to take a little break as I haven't had the time to work on pages between my current job, job hunting for the industry I really want to be in, and running a DnD game with my friends (DMing takes a lot of prep time 😅)

However this comic is not dead, this story and its characters always linger in my mind and when I find opportunity I do plot and plan its future moments. Especially as I've been reading a lot of other webcomics to inspire me in the meantime!

But good news, I have been working on the next part to come out! It's four pages and will be a little interlude between Moon 7 and Moon 8s events, as I felt there needed to be a little more narrative bridging.

I like the clangen style of having lots of events happening every moon, and wanted to keep pages simple and brief so I could get through them - but in my heart I love a story that's pacing fits the narrative so I might be playing with my style / the look of the comic to find the right balance. I'm not a fast artist nor one with a lot of endurance, so I need to figure out the right amount of effort to put in every page and plot without burn out or boredom.

So in short, yes I've been taking a little break, the comic is not dead however, and there is pages in progress! 🫡 My style might become a little rougher and inconsistent with future updates however so I can reasonably balance updates alongside my schedule, but we'll see.

[ Poor guy, he really does thinks that abandoning Freckle on the spot would be better for her in the long run then her sticking with him. Even just trying to train Freckle reminded him of his own training and the idea of having to train like that again freaked him out, not wanting things to repeat. Not with her. ]

I thought this blog was called ashtray clangen since the main character guy seems like a chronic smoker. Like an entire pack a day type depressed

Hehehe You're not the first to say that (ashtray-clan is becoming more and more likely as their group name) and also not wrong about my main fella here 😅 He doesn't have any strategies to cope with stress or his poor mental health, if he were human he would have a lot of terrible unhealthy habits probably. Stuck as a cat, all he can do is lash out or avoid others sooooo 😔 (looks at the latest moon update)

I just finished reading through your comic and I am really enjoying it!!! I've seen your comic around a bit, and I only just realized it astray-clan and not ashtray-clan! I don't know how I mixed that one up lol.

???: "By consensus, we're Ashtray Clan now." Freckle: "What's a ashtray? Or a clan?"

And hehehe yeah I think I miscalculated how the word 'astray' appears in most fonts and sentences, ashtray is a far more common word and this is becoming a real funny misconception 😅 Funnier still that I don't have a proper 'clan' name for this group yet and was thinking about creating a poll or something later on to choose one... Ashtray would be a real contender if the cats could understand what one was pfft 🤣]

Wanted an image for my blogs theme so I drew this. I love messing with a good custom theme for a side blog and now I've got all my links set up!
