• g u c c i • Spring 1997. This was one Hot and Steamy collection! This was Minimillism 90s, as seen through the eyes of Mr Ford. Sleek boob tube dresses and tops, skinny pants in bronzed lurex ( navy and chocolate, as well as black also featured strongly ), slinky sheer, crochet like knits and shimmery velvets, it was one part 54, one part heroin chic ( those dark, smokey eyes and wet, slicked hair, this look was immensely controversial, and a moment fashion had to be held accountable for ). The biggest show stopping moment would be Georgina Grenville and a male model, gliding down the runway in those G g-string bikini bottoms! Terribly cheeky! The campaign stared Georgina ( her second consecutive for the Italian label ), Rhea Durham and Kiara, shot by Testino and styled ,of course, by Carine. Sexy and languid, this was a highly, sexually charged campaign, not leaving much to the imagination. I remember thinking this was such a cool campaign, sexy, slightly androgynous and something I looked to for inspiration. I wanted to look like the male model, knit unbuttoned to there, wearing those yellow tinted aviators, I wanted to be a “Gucci Guy”. The power of advertising at its best! #guccisundays #gucci#tomford#mariotestino #carineroitfeld #90s#stellatennant#georginagrenville #kiarakubukuru #chandranorth#katemoss#ambervalletta #naomicampbell#astridmunoz #carolynmurphy#rheadurham#kyliebax
