3. fantasy or sci-fi? OK I’m going to be really annoying and say that I’m one of those people who thinks that fantasy and scifi are functionally the same genre and the terms “scifi” and “fantasy” are only useful to describe aesthetic choices! Which is all a long way of saying that I like fantasy aesthetics better :^)

9. contemporaries or fantasy? Fantasy!!!!! For sure... I love getting lost in new worlds

27. series or stand-alones? Ugh I WISH I read more stand-alones... I’m in the middle of like five different series right now, and I just ordered the first book in another series from my local library yesterday. 🤦‍♀️ Maybe I should mix things up and read a stand alone book sometime...

DETERRENTS TO CAT

debatable allergies (my allergist claims I am, but I cuddle all the cats regardless) (this can be fixed with shots which I am seriously considering)

my mother is allergic to cats and I live in a 1 bedroom apt and I do want her to visit....well I hope that she visits for like more than 22 hours (it’s a medium length rant but yay being the eldest =_=)

I’m worried if I have enough space for a cat?? + litterbox placement + insurance etc etc ==> I want to be a good cat mom!!!

I like stare longing at the shelter page at the cats

I’d like a black one BUT I AM GOOD WITH ANY

I just really love cats okay

I’m very sad that the local used bookstore is closing because they have cats that you can pet

i am allergic to cats and simba sheds like a MOFO but i take a 24hr pill and its fine. elevated wbc but otherwise no issues! insurance you can usually cancel after 1st year if the cat turns out to have no health issues, and a 1 br should be plenty of space! get a litter box that has an opening at the top so that litter doesnt get all over your bathroom floor and a litter genie to put the waste in and seal away the smell and voila.

(sorry you were probs NOT asking for advice but everyone should enter the kingdom of cats!)

I think you should have one! That all sounds manageable with your current situation, you would be a great cat mom!

I’m honestly considering it? I’m probably going to hold of on any decisions til like Sept due to travel and such etc etc etc.

fennel: how do you feel right now?

Ans: Right now? A little tired/drained. I’ve been stuck home from Sat to Tues because we got snow and my current state doesn’t know how to handle snow. So consequently, there was a little bit of catching up plus while I do love my lab mates, socializing is exhausting for me. So I’m home now and tired.....I also need to work on putting my sleep pattern back on track so that is also probably playing a role.

oolong: where do you see yourself in five years?’

Ans: As Dr. Mneme and hopefully residing overseas for a post-doc? But at minimum done with my doctorate....with a cat. I really really want a cat. The building across from mine at work has a lady in admin who’s fostering kittens? And thus, she brings to her office to “get practice with humans” and was just told this today SO PLAYED WITH KITTENS AFTER MY PI MEETING. they were so so precious.

i had the same thing during my MA, it IS a relief, i haven't even gotten on meds since then (it's been like 4 years) but i feel like i understand and can manage myself so much better (am now in a doctoral program as well). so congrats!

do you have any writing tips because that’s literally pulling teeth for meee

ALSO CONGRATS ON THE MA!!!

and yeah now it’s less why can’t i do the same approach as person X, Y, and Z and it’s more (or at least coming around to) well um ur brain is a little different so yes you need to do it this way
