As I was writing the Zane/Leander breakup memory, I realized that the personality I had in mind for him was pretty much exactly like what I imagine for star elves. So, now that's what he is. I think it gives some dimension to things. Most notably, the way Zane is part of Xur's stone/star issues. The way Zane is the reason Xur was eventually able to stop trying to be a star elf. When Zane encouraged Xur not to try so hard to be a star elf, it wasn't just that he didn't want Xur to have to keep up the futile chase for his father's approval. It was because he knew firsthand that star elves suck. Plus, it's already made the Celestial Council more of a thing. (Stone elves have some cultural identity other than the Realm's. So do star elves.) I haven't been able to think of a dark-haired male elf I like for Leander (Elrond? No. Nimoy's Spock? No. Quinto's Spock? No.), but he doesn't feel like the type who needs a PB. Not unless he becomes more of a thing. (Also: Ignore the name he had in the Super Long Meme. All of the names for Zane's exes suck. Leander, Indominus, Agni. Not... those things.)
