to  say  he  was  less  than  impressed  with  the  castle  itself  and  the  denizens  inside  of  it  was  largely  an  understatement .  in  all  that  he  had  heard  of  the  fae ,  their  use  of  magic  was  something  exceptional .  being  able  to  control  various  elements  and  their  more  rare  affinities  and  he  had  expected  more .  ronan  had  expected  them  to  be  able  to  handle  a  threat ,  even  an  unknown  one .  yet  they  were  entirely  clueless  and  in  more  danger  until  their  arrival .  such  as  what  was  happening  here  would  not  be  allowed  within  the  walls  of  the  blood  queen's  palace ,  no  not  at  all .  his  pace  is  lazy ,  slowed  as  he  strides  throughout  the  halls ,  passing  by  fae  and  vampires  alike  who  stand  mostly  at  a  distance  to  one  another .  he  does  not  blame  the  fae ,  but  they  cannot  stay  apart  for  long ,  especially  if  they  are  to  find  their  rebels .  " so  they  have  gathered  for  some  kind  of  competition ,  is  that  right ? "  he  asks  out  loud  and  if  it  draws  another  in  conversation  then  so  be  it .

there  had  been  a  million  and  one  questions  asked  when  the  disappearances  had  occurred  and  then  the  bodies  that  had  begun  to  be  found .  a  lack  of  blood  in  their  bodies ,  something  of  which  they  would  learn  was  because  of  vampires .  along  with  the  other  high  healers ,  jesinia  had  been  allowed  a  moment  to  investigate  the  body  to  understand  what  they  were  up  against .  nothing  would  bring  them  back  once  emptied  of  their  blood .  it  was  a  ghastly  thing  to  see ,  the  pale  hollowed  out  body  of  a  once  vibrant  fae  a  shock  to  them  all .  jesinia  turns  as  another  steps  up  to  the  railing  and  immediately  she  finds  the  need  to  speak .  " if  you're  going  to  ask  if  healing  magic  can  bring  back  blood ,  it  cannot .  when  one  has  lost  a  lot  of  blood  and  if  they  are  still  alive ,  then  it  simply  can  help  to  speed  up  a  body's  innate  healing . "  her  fingers  drum  against  the  stone  in  front  of  her ,  but  then  she  sees  it  is  not  another  one  of  the  healers .  " my  apologies ...  i  thought  you  were  one  the  assistant  healers .  you  likely  did  not  want  to  know  such  things . "

Violante does not pause as she approaches the man resting in the garden and sits on the bench across to him with a vague sense of purpose. Discussing her plans with Lucian is all well and done, but she is very aware that he is more of the logician between the two and will always resort to the safest measure rather than the one that will lead to the answers they all desire sooner rather than later. Now that she knows how to approach the vampires without causing an international incident, the last thing to do is ensure more people are told of her prospective shenanigans. Both to ensure that the vampire’s know she cannot be drained and thrown aside for their amusement, and to see the reaction of people who are not quite as careful as Lucian but extremely clever regardless. 

“I am about to engage in some rather ill-advised research, and I wanted to inform you of what it entails before I throw myself off the deep end,” she offers, voice calm and amused as a light smile dusts her lips. “It revolves around the rather curious set of visitors that has arrived at Aureth’s doors of course.”

The night sky glitters as if someone had thrown uncut diamonds upon a velvet case, and there is a soft breeze stirring her senses. Dressed lightly, Ursula hums under her breath and she lets her legs kick back and forth in the air. She is sitting on the edge of the stone awning looming over one of the castle’s gardens with a bunch of grapes in a plate next to her. Every once in a while, she reaches down and plucks one of the grapes and pops it into her mouth. The quiet of the night soothes her everbusy mind, and the troubles of the day seem far away when the world and darkness are so very at peace. Yet the threat those troubles present remains even as she is cradled by darkness, so she can’t help but tense as she hears the sound of footsteps. Bringing her legs up, she tilts her head to examine her surroundings, expecting an intruder and finding instead a rather peculiar sight: a princess without her guard. Brows raised in amusement, Ursula takes the plate and lowers her legs back to the air. With a practiced motion, she pushes herself off the roof’s edge and let’s the air and her wings catch her so that she glides closer and closer to Lex until her feet touch the ground. 

“As much as I understand the need for fresh air in the middle of the night, I wouldn’t recommend walking around without an escort for now,” she calls out, voice warm and steady. She does not want to frighten her by appearing from the darkness, but then again, it’s not like she fully announced herself, did she?
