Aswat organization for LBTQI Women
“Aswat is a group of a group of lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning and queer Palestinian women. who came together in 2002 to establish a home for Palestinian LBTQI women to have safe, supportive and empowering spaces to express and adress personal, social and political struggles as a national indigenous minority living inside Israel.”
-Ina’am: “Ms Issawi is an advocate for women and LGBTQI rights and has extensive experience in group facilitation, conducting educational workshops and in working with civil society organizations. She participated in different conferences and trainings on sexuality and sexual diversity.”
-Rima: “Through her activism Rima took part in arranging and participating in different conferences and workshops in the Palestinian society and abroad that address sexual identities and feminism within the Palestinian society and the Arab world.“
-Ghadir: “Taghrid writes funding proposals; researches and develops funding resources; and completes narrative and financial reports. She also assists in developing the group's programs and yearly programmatic budget.
