☽ Defeat wasn’t an option - he had spend too much resources and time on planning for this invasion to let it end in his defeat. No silly Earthers would get to best General Lunaris, not as long as he still drew breath. It was a last resort, but with defeat imminent without immediate action, he let the madness take control and activated his lasers.
In his delirium, he didn’t think about his failure to evacuate his people before he targeted Earth. Watching his ship utterly obliterate the Duck family and their home planet, there was an immediate thrill that washed over him. He did what his father could never do: Lunaris had eliminated the threat of Earth claiming the Moon as their own. Never again would his people-
Exist.
The grim reality of his actions dashed his excitement all at once as he realized what he did. He failed his people. He killed the very people he had sworn to protect. They were all gone, save Penumbra. But was that even a guarantee, considering her attempt at rebellion with Donald Duck? He had left her locked up on the Moon, but he knew she wouldn’t stay there long.
The rush back to the Moon was accompanied by increasing anxiety levels, the only thought in his mind were prayers that he hadn’t culled her along with everyone else. There was no plan on what he would do or say once he found the woman who was once his closest ally, but that didn’t matter. He just needed to know she was still alive.
“Penumbra!? Are you here?”
