i haven't yet! i've got an earc of it but i kind of just want to wait until i can get my hands on the physical copy. but who knows if i can hold out until then ahahah. 

honestly i thought everything about cruel beauty was perfect lol i just really have a hard on for rosamund's writing and nyx and ignifex but rly NYX just seems so hard to top i'm scared i won't like crimson bound as much tbh, we shall see

Oh no worries! I didn't mean to imply that you did! I meant to say that some shippers make Touka out to be the bad guy because she gets in the way of their ship - and so they demonize her.

I actually feel the same way as you. I can totally be okay with no ship being canon as long as Touke gets a more prominent role.

If Touka wasn't implied to care deeply about Kaneki at all, no one would give her hate because then shuuken and hidekane could shine - but alas, this is not the case, so they need to knit pick her character apart searching for reasons her relationship with Kaneki is not legitimate even though she's one of the most important characters in the entire damn series.

This isn't about a "waiting girlfriend" trope now that Touka is back and shows great pain over Kaneki leaving  - this is about them being upset that the author is implying importance in Touka's relationship with Kaneki, whether it be romantic or not. It's a problem.

how did he mean it, ya'll confuse me. Even though Touka being beautiful is objective fact - Kimi called her beautiful as well. I'm not saying that it was necessarily romantic because even I think that's a reach (though it's definitely within reason) but the fact that they are trying to explain away why he said it at all is mind boggling.

They are THAT insecure. Over one chapter. Heaven forbid, Touken gets even more scenes in the future, can you imagine the fandom meltdown?
