What I love about Kosem season 1 is the simply do not give a fuck that the actors who play Kosem look nothing alike. Also they don’t even have a time jump (which MC attempted to do with the Hurrem change) they just go one scene it’s this actress and the next scene it’s another. Sure they do it in a dramatic fashion where she is accepting her role as Kosem vs Anastasia but it’s still so jarring.
These scenes are two seconds apart, all of sudden Kosem is this new actress (who doesn’t even look THAT aged up, but apparently there is a difference in age here).
Clearly some behind the scenes drama happened bc the OG actress wasn’t even suppose to play her to begin with and promos were shot with a much younger (more historically accurate) actress. That promo actress looks way more like the second actress who plays Kosem than the first one.
And then what’s even funnier is the final actress to play Kosem facial structure looks more like the first actress but the dark hair of the second actress
This is just so wacky and honestly even funnier than Hurrem randomly being a woman in her 50s and the rest of the cast being so much younger… what was happening here.
Also why are they ALLERGIC to recasting the men. I think I could deal with all these recasts if some of the men were recast, Ibrahim I is the only man on this show they ever recast to fit the age better. The rest of the time they just added gray to the hair and beards and called it a day.
