Fuck anti GLP-1 propaganda.
Being aware and critical of risks and corporations doesnt mean you should demonise the medicine and portray it as an inherently harmful drug.
@ursinefutchass guess what else is linked endometrial cancer, type 2 diabetes and hypertension?
OBESITY!
(And lifestyle choices linked to obesity)
To anyone suffering with PCOS I am sorry, Iām not trying to downplay how horrible it is and I wish there was an easier answer to it than weight loss (if you do have excess fat) and taking oestrogen. Weight loss isnāt recommended because doctors hate fat people (though I know it can feel that way), itās because elevated levels of androgens can cause PCOS and visceral fat produces androgens. Of course genetics play a role, but these genes influence the type of PCOS someone might develop: someone who has generally higher reproductive hormones and someone with a higher BMI. I know a lot of people who donāt want to go on oestrogen for their PCOS and improved their symptoms through weight loss, Iāve dealt with milder symptoms myself that have largely improved too.
Endometrial cancer:
Hypertension:
This is coming from someone who had elevated blood pressure when they were obese and now has very normal blood pressure when overweight. Having a larger body relative to your heart means that it has to work harder to support. It doesnāt matter if you have more muscle or fat, more tissue can lead to higher pressure. Plus visceral fat creates intra-abdominal pressure causing elevated blood pressure.
Type 2 diabetes:
At a very basic level your body responds to consistently heightened blood sugar by producing insulin to encourage glucose into tissues that use it. But if insulin is consistently heightened then your cells can grow accustomed and develop resistance, creating a vicious cycle of hyperglycaemia and insulin resistance this can eventually lead to diabetes if left untreated or unmanaged. Plus, considering that 1 in 3 adults in the US have prediabetes when combined with obesity (when considering fat as hormonally active) someone becomes much more likely to develop T2 diabetes. There definitely is more to it as it is a multi-factorial condition such as the lack of exercise, the effect of triglycerides and genetics but it doesnāt negate the link between obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Iām not saying that weight loss is the cure to all health issues or that healthy-weight people canāt have these conditions but losing excess adipose tissue can improve your chances of avoiding them.

saddest person ive ever seen in my life. ill be over here getting fat on purpose and feeling more joy from it than you ever will
I don't care if you're happy with whatever you choose to do, but you can't spew misinformation and expect people not to correct you. Keep your self destructive habits to yourself.
I think obesity isnt anyones fault or a flaw. I think its a chronic illness/condition and should be treated as such, not as "laziness" "gluttony" but also not in a "weightloss doesnt work, if you like thin women you're a pdf" way!!!
Is there a middle ground between online fat liberationists and casual fatphobes?
And yes i know that fat liberationists would call me a fatphobe- their definition of this word differs from mine I guess.
Please for the love of god let this account be a troll š
Every time this moron posts I lose a little bit more of my sanity. How does one even come up with this bullshit.
if you are lucky you will love someone and their hair will thin and their breasts will sag and you will kiss them everywhere over and over again
I was having a conversation with someone who was lamenting over how to maintain attraction to our partners as their bodies change and age and feeling self conscious herself about that process and I was like. we should be so lucky as to see them through these many years as we are seen ourselves. Hope that helps u understand

It wasnāt boomers who made it impossible to survive on a librarian or gardenerās salary - it was rich people.Ā
Plenty of boomers work as librarians, teachers, gardeners, and so forth, and are finding that as the cost of living skyrockets and corporations take over more and more of the world, that their salary is no longer able to support them.
And thus you have boomers - who understand how much you want to be a librarian because they also work as librarians - going bankrupt, losing their homes, drowning in debt, and dying because of unaffordable healthcare. And they get why youāre becoming an IT specialist instead of a librarian - because they! Know! That you canāt survive! On a librarianās salary anymore!
On the flip side, the rich people sucking money out of every service and person they can! Arenāt! Always! Boomers! Tons of them are Gen X! And an increasing number are millennials! I havenāt seen a Gen Z billionaire yet but Iām willing to bet thereās a couple by now!
Oh, and itās not like they ādonāt knowā how much people want to do these sorts of jobs - they do! Thatās how they justify underpaying people, because itās your passion, you donāt ~need~ to be paid a living wage for your passion.
You have more in common with poor boomers than you do with Kylie Jenner (born 1997). Go and talk to them. Organize with them. Youāll find they have a lot to offer once you stop dismissing them as rich old folks who ruined the economy.
in love with this tweet
I was today years old when I learned that when you type āotp: trueā in AO3 search results it filters out fics with additional ships, leaving only the fics where your otp is the main ship

Like we have commodified human connection to a degree where if you go beyond smalltalk you're oversharing and if you talk too deeply about your life you're traumadumping and if you get visibly upset you're manipulative and if you care too much you're codependent and if you want to talk about anything heavy you're expected to go hire a therapist because your friends shouldn't have to deal with that stuff and yet we're all sitting around wondering why so many people are lonely...
My mother's first home was a refugee camp. Her mother was sold on a Nazi slave market.
I have dead relatives on Ukrainian battlefields. We can't get them back because russia has colonised the regions.
One relative was taken hostage by the bastard russians and tortured for 2.5 years.
The word "slave" actually means "Slavic person". The word "genocide" was invented in Lviv.
An Amnesty International guy chased my mother through a shopping mall, yelling at her that she was a "stupid white woman who wouldn't know what a refugee is".
Ukrainians aren't allowed to talk about the racism we get every single fucking day because we're "too white".
