iv been thinkin about noel and cass all darn day...... do u have any cute hcs

oh boy do i like. i have so many but these are probably the most coherent ones for now

- noel falls hard and fast for her. like completely, absolutely head over heels. and he realizes this early-on after a shootout with some raiders on the road--both of them stained with blood and sweat and completely out of breath, yet somehow, he thinks, somehow she still looks more stunning than every sunrise he’s seen in all his wandering years. he wonders where she’s been his whole life but realizes that it doesn’t really matter--she’s here now, and maybe as long as that remains so, he’ll be a happy man.

- it takes cass a little longer to realize she really likes the guy. it’s only after hoover dam, when she catches herself thinking of him in a Very Fond way and finds that she doesn’t particularly want to go back to california at the moment, not if he’s gonna be staying in vegas, that she just thinks, “oh. oh. well ........ shit.”

- noel calls her “miss cassidy” or just “rose” when he’s teasing her. cass’s nicknames for him include “old man”, “big lug”, or she’ll just refer to him by his surname. when she actually calls him by his first name, then you’ll know things are serious, and depending on her tone she’s either pissed off or trying to be Tender and Affectionate

- they get drunk-married in a ceremony officiated by the king a couple months after becoming A Thing, with matching rings and everything (no one seems to know where they got those from). they sorta just laugh it off after waking up, make a few comments on how they’re not really the marrying sort, and there’s a couple of jokes from noel about whether she’ll call herself mrs burgess or if he’ll have to call himself mr cassidy.

- but despite all of that, they do wind up keeping the rings. noel wears it on his finger, and cass keeps it on a necklace she wears alongside the pendant her father gave her. neither of them ever really bring that up as a topic, but they don’t really have to. the gesture says a lot more than they could ever say with words

- noel gets “whiskey rose” tattooed on his arm at some point. he maintains that he wasn’t drunk when it happened. cass finds that doubtful and is simultaneously mortified and vaguely amused (mostly mortified tho)

I DO and i’ve been meaning to put together a playlist for them but i’ve only got a few and haven’t had the time/inspiration to hunt down more songs for a complete eight-track playlist ....... but the ones i have rn (plus youtube links bc honestly i need more ppl to suffer w me in this noel/cass hell) are

blue moon - dean martin (like this song in general is Their Song really and the sinatra version from the game is good but this one is also Good)

somethin’ stupid - frank & nancy sinatra (this song is literally so Them i get so ridiculously emotional thinking just abt it)

actions speak louder than words - bobby darin (none of my era-appropriate fallout playlists would be complete without a darin song lbr and this is also really Them)

from a jack to a king - elvis presley (i mean this is more from noel’s perspective but still it works)

like i still need to work on finding at least four more but these are Definitely noel/cass songs and they’re a good start imo

leon is a Mess but he’s one of my favorite messes i love him so much ....... and seriously thank u again for sending in that ask my dude, i never really talk abt noel these days and i never get the chance to talk abt cass and her boyfriend aka the biggest Human Disaster on this side of the mojave, but rest assured i still Love them with all my heart,

ngl i yelled when i saw this come up i never get the opportunity to talk abt cass and her disaster courier boyfriend (this is also under a cut bc there are way too many Good questions here)

who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa

this is such a Noel Thing to do i can imagine it happening so clearly and so often

who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them

noel carves cass’s name into the the stock of his rifle and adds a little heart next to it. cass teases him for acting like some kinda lovesick puppy when she sees it (and then later winds up doing something similar with her shotgun)

who starts the tickle fights

perhaps surprisingly, cass. but only because noel happens to be incredibly ticklish and that’s something she’s gonna use to her advantage

who starts the pillow fights

noel does, sometimes. it usually starts with cass throwing a pillow at his face for whatever reason and the situation deteriorates from there. (noel loses 80% of the time)

who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile

both of them bc they’re both Trash for this kind of thing even if they don’t like to admit it

who mistakes salt for sugar

honestly this is both of them ……….. usually noel tho bc a) his eyesight is kinda shit especially in the morning when he’s without his glasses and dead on his feet while making his coffee and b) he’s just forgetful sometimes

who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning

noel does this sometimes. from the bedroom comes the sound of cass’s muffled voice saying “noel, i swear to god”

who comes up with cheesy pick up lines

both of them. noel has a seemingly-endless supply of Bad lines so he’s always ready. cass’s lines are typically of better quality but they don’t come as often

who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order

neither of them, really. their bookshelves are in a perpetual state of disarray

who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies

cass. noel gave up trying to fight for the spoon a long, long time ago tbh

who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasion

cass usually brings a few candles with her. it’s for practical reasons but noel likes to joke about it and say shit like “ever the romantic, miss cassidy”

who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen

they both do this to each other. noel doodles dumb little stick figure scenes on cass’s shoulder (“i call this ‘angry caravan lady beats the shit out of a bunch of legion assholes’”) and sometimes when noel’s asleep cass draws something Unflattering on the unscarred side of noel’s forehead

who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation

noel tbh. he doesn’t collect a lot of trinkets, but sometimes he takes a few mementos to remember things by (they usually just wind up gathering dust on one of his shelves back at the lucky 38 or maybe even in the shack cass n their daughter live in back in california)

who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazines

noel. he finds a lot of them after he starts searching for more prewar books and literature and whatnot. he’s fully aware they’re ridiculous but hey, a guy’s gotta have some hobbies. and honestly, he loves this dumb prewar stuff and it’s a great break from the usual serious non-fiction reading he puts himself through

honestly the series was probably where video games began for me tbh i still remember struggling so badly with re2 as a kid ......... re4 is still probably my fave tho because suddenly leon wasn’t just a pixel-y mess he was a hot pixel-y mess who spouted Bad one-liners literally every five seconds i loev him
