Got here on time this morning, of course hundreds had arrived before us. Reserved seats were already in place and there wasn't a chance in all creation that we would every get to sit front an center. Jesus is an Almighty God! He blesses the faithful, the hungry, and the bold. Boldly we searched for a seat down front, and it was not in vain. As I opened my eyes this morning to a beautiful sunrise, that’s all I wanted: just to sit in God’s Presence and receive His peace, His love…His Spirit. I realize that often I’m so tempted to rush into my morning routine and get ready for the day…that I miss out on the opportunity to just SIT and be FILLED by Him. I miss out on cherishing the best part of my entire day: being with God. . . As a New Yorker, I totally understand how difficult it can be to slow down. There are simply too many things running through our minds, too many to-dos to check off our list. Taking more than 5-10 minutes of your day to slow down with God might seem like a bit of a nuisance amidst the gazillion or so responsibilities you “need to” attend to. But what if I told you that time spent with God is a gazillion times more valuable and fulfilling than anything else you might do today? Or that simply sitting in His Presence can grant you more peace and wisdom than any person or experience can offer? . . Prayer Challenge: What’s stopping you from truly enjoying and basking in God’s Presence and Peace? How can you orient your day (and your heart) to be completely centered on the only One who can truly satisfy? Father God, I pray that You would wake me up each morning with the sole thought of worshipping and seeking You wholeheartedly. Take away whatever distracting thoughts, feelings, or even responsibilities that prevent me from sitting at Your feet.
