   Aiden had never wanted to end things with Oliver. Truth be told, he was the love of her life. He meant everything to her. They had been expecting a baby together and even talked about getting married. His dark side wasn’t always an issue to start with. The only part of Oliver that mattered was when he came home to her. But after one close call with his enemy happened, her world was flipped. She knew if she told Oliver her concerns, he’d find a way to make it work. To get her to stay. So she did what she thought was right. She left in secret one night.    Five years later, her love for Oliver was still strong. She never dated after that. She only focused on raising their beautiful son. She found a job working as a waitress at a high end restaurant. She was given her last table for the night when she noticed it was Oliver. Her heart stopped and for a moment she felt she couldn’t breathe. She cleared her throat and approached the table.     “Good evening, lady and gentleman. What can I get you tonight?”

Winter’s Thaw (Bucky & Melinda)

Melinda wasn’t sure to make of the guy, he seemed to be in shut down mode.   It wasn’t like she hadn’t seen it before.    Being a Witch and Whitelighter, on top of being a Doctor, she recognized the signs.    She had made sure to not be too fast, so she did what she did best, she talked.   “You look like you’ve been through the ringer.    Mind if I get your name?    I need something to call you.    While have pretty blue eyes, I don’t think it’s appropriate to call you that.”      She wasn’t certain she would get an answer but getting him to talk was usually best thing that worked.    A full shut down was the last thing she wanted.    She also needed to know what else was hurting.

Felicity tossed the last broken up box into the pile, grin on her face as she glanced around. “And that’s the last box.” She stated proudly her gaze drifting over to William who sat in his bouncy chair on the living room floor. The blonde winked at the baby making him giggle. “Mommy is all moved in - good thing daddy has a big closet.” She added as she plopped down on the couch and drew her legs up while reaching down and brushing a hand over William’s head. “ What should we do now, huh kiddo?”

“Oh my--- frack it’s so cute” Felicity practically teared up at the sight of the cutest little kitten she had ever seen. Her eyes lighting up as she looked up at Oliver, “Please tell me we are keeping it. You can’t hand me a kitten and then take it away you just can’t!”

Oliver wasn’t sure on how long he had been held. He knew that it was closer to a week than two, but it was more than a couple of days. He had stopped keeping track of exactly how long it had been after three days. He knew all the tricks he needed to use to not give in, to not give whoever it was that was behind this a chance to get the upper hand, as long as he himself had the upper hand and didn’t give away any of the information they were after, they would keep him alive.

The pain had begun to get to him, but he knew, that his team would come for him. He knew that they were going to find him, save him. But the question now was who he would be when they did. He closed his eyes and collapsed down on the floor. His head pressed against the cold, damp, floor, his body and mind was tired. He was tired. He had lived through this before, and he could do it again. 

He was pulled up from the floor. a handcuffs and chains around his wrists, and he was pulled up, his arms above his head, and he was hanging. His toes barley touching the floor. He knew what he needed to do, to break out of this, but the energy wasn’t there, not yet. He was going to get out of this, even if it was the last thing he did. “I’m not giving up,” he mumbled.

“You sure about that, beautiful? ‘cause my heart was about to jump right out of my chest.”  Gabe had seen some crazy things in his life ( and had caused some crazy things too ) but he could honestly say this was the first time he’d seen someone vanquish a demon.

“Hey, I will never let anything happen to you.    Sort of my job to get rid of monsters like that.”    It wasn’t like she was The Flash, The Green Arrow, or those heroes, she was more like a trashman getting rid of the garbage that could be dangerous to everyone.
