A Thousand Suns
Loneliness deep within the crevasses of our hearts
Nag at us with an absence we long to fill.
Everyday I sat in pain with the desire to love;
I desired to love you whom I had not met yet.
Then I met your gaze,
And it was as though the light of a thousand suns
ignited inside my chest.
You filled me with hope.
You burn inside of me.
Every day I wake up,
it’s as if you’re my fuel.
A simple spark.
This light dies every time I bid you farewell,
And days pass by before I can see you again.
But lo! Your bright smile gives me
that which I need the most.
The fire that burns on in my heart
Is all that I need to keep on going.
I pray each night that this warmth never dies.
This love that you taught me to feel again.
