Zuko Headcannon
He's extremely touch driven in a relationship, as in always holding your hand or touching you in some way or another. He's touched starved-
Avatar the last Airbender
Mainlist
Avatar/Sokkla headcannon - Azula is a neat princess that believes in self care and good treatment. And so is her boyfriend. Heck, Sokka is even more of a princess than Azula. He always was a maximalist that wanted to buy lots of clothes, care products and purse- sorry, I meant, manly bags, and now he's finally able to do it because Azula is basically sugarmama-ing him.
She's rich. Royalty type of rich. She never had a spending limit. She doesn't even fully grasp the point and concept of a spending limit. Which means she's not hesitant at all about handing over her credit card/royal seal and letting Sokka run wild on his shopping sprees.
In the bathroom, Azula has a shampoo, a shower gel, a conditioner, a shower gel for the cleaning on private areas, a protective cream for the skin, a protective cream for the hair, a shower gel for the facial skill and foam for her light curls. Sokka has three times the amount of products.
He has a shampoo for dry skin, a shampoo for oily skin, a shampoo for washing the roots, a shampoo for washing the ends, a shampoo for discoloration of the hair, a shampoo for preventing slip ends, a shampoo that brings out the natural glow of the hair, two types of conditioner, a protective cream for the hair, a protective cream for the hair that specializes in protection from sun damage, a foam for his one single curly hair.
A shower gel for average skin, a shower gel for sensitive skin, a shower gel for private areas, a shower gel for shaved skin, a shower gel for babies because it's better for sensitive skin because it's better for sensitive skin than his sensitive skin shower gel, three types of loofahs with different softness levels, an exfoliating gloves, an exfoliating cream, a shower gel for facial skin, a shower fell for shaved facial skin, a hydrating cream for shaved facial skin.
Azula takes around 1 to 2 hours in the bathroom. Sokka needs at least 4. Do you know about those "mental health baths" were people fill up the bathtub and pour essential oils, salts, soaps and bath bombs? And light up some candles and stay there for your with some whine and a book? This is how each bath Sokka takes is like. Azula's taking care of the water bill.
It's not "Princess Azula and Warrior Sokka" it's "Princess Sokka and Royal Funds".
Warning: This AU can become awesomely better if you add some malewife Sokka into the mix.
I like to imagine that Toph really likes singing, and has a really nice voice, but all of her friends only learn about her talent a surprisingly long time after the war ends.
The core of this headcannon is the idea that Poppy Beifong, largely responsible for arranging Toph's education and a fairly talented singer herself, decides from early in Toph's life to put together singing lessons together with her daughter. To Poppy, this seems like an appropriate activity for Toph that Poppy can run herself, increasing the time they spend together. Toph quickly grows to like singing on its own while also appreciating it as a chance to spend time with her mom without the pair jumping down each other's throats.
The sudden change comes when Toph joins the GAang; she immediately decides she's going to make an about face from how she lived at home, and part of that is to stop singing the very traditional, melodic songs she learned with her mother. Instead, Toph only ever, rarely when she thinks they're funny, belts out the crudest of folk songs she knows from the Earth Rumbles, always taking care to be a touch out of key.
Eventually, post war, Toph comes to terms with her various issues regarding her childhood, gender, etc, and becomes a lot more willing to sing for/with her friends. This could also be an element of Poppy and Toph's reconciliation; they start mostly being costars in the Gaoling Opera and eventually reconcile
zuko, trying to make conversation: so how’s the weather up there
sokka: we’re the same height
zuko:
In a modern au Zuko is still a master with dual dao swords, but it has a fun unseen side effect
He is an absolute god at beatsaber.
Sokka has a psvr set at his apartment and the gaang frequently get together to play. Toph doesn’t see the appeal but everyone gets super competitive with it. She makes fun of them all.
(Sokka is, of course, trying to engineer a way for her to play by having the controls vibrate directionally)
Zuko just starts hanging out with them and one day Sokka whips out the game, ready to show off his skills, and he’s shocked when Zuko, who never played before, smashes it on Expert+
so you’ve all seen the post about the japanese legend where your new face is your love in your past life. i like to think that when the current avatar dies they just see like a feature selection screen where they get to chose the new avatars features. a customization screen, and that’s how the avatars model their new life based on their love. like a a video game selection screen
Rapid, nonstop balls of flame rip the air and ignite every target in sight.
"Not good enough, Zuzu," a memory stabs him. "I'll always be better." Her voice has never stopped ringing in his ear.
Sweat trickles over the rough, leathered skin on the side of his face. He growls and balls his fists tighter. His flames burn brighter. Hotter. More dangerous.
"Pathetic," his sadistic father says in his mind. He will never forget that twisted smile. Like that of a dark, malignant spirit. That smile haunts his dreams even now as a 22 year old man.
"GRRRAHHH!" he breaths a cloud of fire that could've come from a dragon and steps back, panting. "Get out..." he whispers, just a scared child right now. "Get out of my head. You have no power over me any longer." It's all a bluff, and his waking nightmares call it. He envisions his father's eelhound smile and a flash of light. He feels the searing agony all over again. The physical agony hadn't let up for months. The emotional still comes from time to time. Like now, when it shatters his chest and sends him to his knees. He clutches his hair almost hard anough to pull it out. "GET OUT!" he screams roughly.
"Zuko!" Katara calls, running up behind him. She kneels next to him, a hand on his back. "Zuko, it's nod real anymore..."
The Firelord nods, and a rare tear falls onto the grass as the person who once hated him the most lets him fall to pieces on her shoulder. She was his best friend. She had been in every life and would continue to be so forevermore.
