Chuffed to have been included in this online Exhibition. But, do online exhibitions have value in the same sense as physical exhibitions? In many respects, for me, going to any major art show in London and the inevitable crowds means this can be a major drawback, as the experience is often reduced because of endless bodies in the way and having little time to dwell on an image, piece of work. However, having said that, it is also part of the thrill and excitement of a major exhibit. Online though can be a very personal journey in one’s own home and experience without interference and perhaps can be a more intimate relationship with the work on show? A Short Introduction

Wendy Whitelaw, Park Avenue shot by Arthur Elgort Hello, my name is Kamila and I am currently a photography student at the University of Westminster in London. I am greatly passionate about photography and I love the fact that I can visualise a spontaneous idea in my head, and turn it into reality through a photograph. I came across this photograph at the Atlas Gallery in London, when I went there for Arthur Elgort’s exhibition with a couple of my friends. This picture really caught my eye, because it raises a lot of questions in my head, such as ‘where is she going? ‘why is her dress undone?’ ‘what happened?’ and what is the photographer trying to portray? The way the man is positioned in front of her also intrigues me, as his body language is showing that he is open, interested and is willing to communicate to her. In addition, I love this photograph because it is black and white. Personally, I think that black and white photography exaggerates the tones, shapes  and figures as well as creating a dramatic effect. Arthur Elgort’s work and creativity has greatly influenced my use of black and white photography as well as a desire to study fashion photography, which I hope to continue at the University of Westminster.
