Jane Hilton’s new exhibition ‘L.A. Gun Club’ opens in just over a week. The new series features her photographed shot target posters. Pictured above is ‘Target J’

The show opens 13th May and runs through 18th June at Eleven.

Eleven is delighted to launch a new limited edition print by Natasha Law. Taking Off in Blue is available at a special price of £150 until 7th May when the price will be increased to £175. The price includes postage in the UK if ordered via Eleven's website.

 Print making has always been an important aspect of Law’s practice. Taking Off in Blue fits in alongside other recent prints including In the Red and the Pink (2015), Pull in Purple (2014) and Back in Green (2014).

 Taking Off in Blue is a silkscreen print with gloss ink and foil blocked detail on Somerset Satin White 300 gsm paper. The paper size is 29.5 x 17 cm and the edition size is 100. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist on the front. The print is included in Printed Matter at Eleven which runs until 7th May and features prints by other artists including Michael Craig-Martin, Harland Miller and Keith Tyson.

 Natasha Law is currently preparing for a solo show at Eleven which will feature new paintings on aluminium and paper. The exhibition will be on display at Eleven from 24th June to 26th August 2016.

Eleven’s annual ‘Christmas Salon’ exhibition is up and runs through 9th January.

This year’s edition of ‘Christmas Salon’ features new works across a variety of media by gallery artists: Adam Dix, Gerry Fox, Harry Cory Wright, Jane Hilton, Jennie Ottinger, Jonathan Yeo, Kent Christensen, Martha Parsey, Natasha Kissell, Natasha Law, Rick Giles and Roland Hicks. Other artists will include Cassie Howard, Cedric Christie, Daisy de Villeneuve, Dede Johnston, Gina Soden, Kate Bright, Jonathan Glynn-Smith, Jonty Sale, Peter Haslam-Fox and Peter Newman.

We are now installing works for our Christmas Salon, which is starting on December 2nd and will run until January 9th.

This year’s edition of Christmas Salon will feature new works across a variety of media by our gallery artists: Adam Dix, Gerry Fox, Harry Cory Wright, Jane Hilton, Jennie Ottinger, Jonathan Yeo, Kent Christensen, Martha Parsey, Natasha Kissell, Natasha Law, Rick Giles and Roland Hicks. Other artists will include Cassie Howard, Daisy de Villeneuve, Dede Johnston, Gina Soden, Kate Bright, Jonathan Glynn-Smith, Jonty Sale, Peter Haslam-Fox, Peter Newman and Ray Richardson.

A range of paintings, photographs, prints, drawings and sculptures will coalesce to form this dynamic exhibition. The varied display for this exhibition originates from the famous Salon de Paris where only the most influential artists were presented in this high profile exhibition. Similarly, Eleven will present an extensive wall-to-wall exhibition unveiling some of the latest work by the artists along with some never before seen pieces.

At the heart of Gina Soden’s photography is a preoccupation with abandoned structures and locations. Traveling widely to undisclosed sites throughout Europe, she explores the boundaries of beauty, decay, nostalgia and neglect. The genesis of each piece is often the unique architectural character of each location, heightened by their painfully slow transformation after years of abandonment. The work is underscored by the potential controversy of gaining unlicensed access to the out of bounds areas. Every image is a product of a journey, referring both to the physical demands of gaining entry and to the passing of time which is evident in the deserted locations.

Rather than taking a documentary approach, Soden breathes a sense of life into the scenes, hinting at narrative with studied compositions. Characteristically each image has a distinctly painterly aesthetic, side stepping the tendency that photography has for observational and distanced looking. Soden’s approach is lyrical and directs the viewer to explore the concepts of time and memory. The compositions feature derelict asylums, long since closed schools, ex-military compounds and famous city power stations in various stages of decay. The results are striking and poignant, at once both edgy in their contemporary aesthetic and nostalgic in their ruinous beauty.

Gina Soden's works will be exhibited at our Christmas Salon which will be running from  2nd December, to 9th January.

Northern Vermont, where artist Dede Johnston grew up, has played a central role in regards to her artistic formation. Alpine landscapes are a central theme in her photographic works that show a fascination with abstract forms created by the light and shadows encompassing the snow covered world.

Johnston’s alpine landscapes reveal an influence from the Eastern aesthetic principle of seeking beauty and mystery in dim light. The different shadows that create soft and delicate forms, in fact, make her alpine landscapes suggestive and mysterious.

Johnston’s photos work as a visual example of Japanese novelist Jun'ichirō Tanizaki’s idea of half-darkness as a site of peace, repose and contemplation where ‘immutable tranquility holds sway’.

Dede Johnston’s photographic works  ‘Glacier I’ and ‘Mt. Vallon’ have been realised using a Nikon D800 and will be featured in Eleven’s ‘Christmas Salon’ which will be on from 2nd December, to 9th January.
