I genuinely don’t know where it came from, but the inspiration to finally buckle down and finish the LONG AWAITED (nearly 3 years delayed) next chapter for ATLUH hit me today and… I got it done!
Somehow, someway, I finally fucking finished it!
I was genuinely starting to believe, like many of you I’m sure, that this was never going to happen and that I really had lost the drive and motivation to continue this one, but it’s here, and I am crossing my fingers that it never takes me this long to finish another chapter ever again.
That being said though, I want to apologize for how disorganized and unpolished it might be. Because of the way I kept having to force myself to write bits and pieces of it over the years, I personally am not as proud of it as I wish I could be, but at this point, I’m just happy to say it’s done. 😅

Hey I just wanted to ask a question ab all that led us here. You said that this chapter is really hard for you to write and we’ve noticed that the updates for this series have become few and far between. I was just wondering if perhaps you don’t enjoy that series anymore? I know it’s really hard on something you’re bored with/don’t like. Of course me and a lot of others loved it to pieces but I’m sure none of us want you to be writing something you don’t find interesting anymore.

I’m actually incredibly excited to write the rest of the story and even have some of it already worked out and a few rough drafts started, it’s just this one particular chapter that is proving so difficult to write. I don’t know if it’s because of the fact that it’s a smut chapter and I always find those ones to be the most difficult to write for some reason (despite them being some of my favorite ones), or because of how much I have to toe the line between Kai being a genuinely loving partner and a possessive yandere.
I honestly wish that I could do a fade to black with this one and just explain what happens through exposition in the next chapter, but this chapter is a key point in the plot and if I do that, then the rest of the story won’t have the same impact.
I know it’s annoying and waiting sucks, but there’s really nothing I can do but just keep working on it a little bit at a time. I’m actually hoping that completing one of my other fics, like Purity or Honor in Misfortune, will help me make more time for it in the future. I don’t plan on discontinuing any of my Kai/Overhaul related fics, so please just keep being patient with me.
The answer is definitely yes. However, as I’ve said in previous posts about this topic, this particular chapter has proven itself to be incredibly hard to write for a lot of different reasons, and I will be the first to admit that I did in fact loose a bit of interest in it in favor of working on some stories that were just easier for me to write at the time.
That being said though, I have been working on it a lot more here in recent weeks and while I can’t give a you a solid date for when the next very long overdue update might get posted, I can at least say that I hope it won’t be too much longer. It just depends on how my muse for this fic is feeling.
What happens if Kai finds out that both readers from Purity and ATLUH turn out to be asexual or aromantic or maybe aroace? What will he do then?
Well I think it’s safe to say that Purity’s Kai wouldn’t care one or the other. No matter what her proclivity or sexual orientation was, the events still would have played out in roughly the same way. Depending on what that orientation was, it may have made his task more difficult, but her fate was already sealed once Kai decided he wanted her. And he clearly never cared about her consent when it came to anything, least of all where sex was concerned, so her being asexual or anything even remotely similar would have been unlikely to sway his decisions.
In fact, her lack of a sexual appetite probably would have made him try even harder to force those desires on her, because the unfortunate fact is that, regardless of whether a person has an inclination for sexual acts or not, the human body can only endure so much before it gives in physically to forced stimulation. It’s nothing more than a a natural response, but Kai would still eagerly use it against her all the same. He’d constantly tell himself and her that with enough time and effort, she’ll eventually learn to love him and the pleasure they obviously bring one another.
As for ATLUH, that one’s a bit more tricky...
What I said about Purity going about the same way applies here as well, because their relationship stayed pretty tame up until the night he walked in on her masturbating. But let’s say that never happened, let’s say she wasn’t doing anything at all but lying awake in bed when Kai entered her room. The night would have gone that same as any other night between them; lots of cuddles and soft, loving touches, maybe even some kisses or even a heavy make out session that would leave them both panting and breathless by the end before they both would eventually fall asleep wrapped around one another.
And if I’m being perfectly frank here, even if the Reader didn’t have a sexual attraction to Kai and was only invested in the parts of their relationship that were purely non-sexual, Kai would have been able to convince her to do the things they did anyway. Even if she really didn’t want to and tried to protest, even outright stating that she had no desire for that kind of stuff and never had, Kai would have pushed harder and harder to get his way and manipulate her into doing what he wanted, and she would have inevitably given in, if for nothing more than to make him happy.
I mean… it’s kinda plainly obvious if you’ve actually read the story all the way though…
It’s mentioned on multiple occasions that while he’s seen a lot of sex and sex related acts, he himself has never participated in them himself.
So, physically he’s never even touched another woman besides the Reader, nor has he ever let another woman touch him, but she’s definitely not the first female he’s seen naked. Growing up in the kind of criminal environment that he has meant that he was seeing some pretty debauched things from a relatively early age and it left him with all the fundamental knowledge on how sex and foreplay works. He doesn’t enjoy it when he does see it, but he also knows that some of the men might look down on him if he shows any kind of hesitation where that stuff is concerned and so he forces himself to get through it in order to save face.
I’m also well aware that Kai is not your typical fumbling “realistic” virgin in any of my stories and that’s because I’m completely incapable of imagining Kai as being anything other than completely confident in his ability to please his Angel.
Also, it’s fanfiction, so I can do whatever I want. lol 😂
Let’s say ATLUH’s reader is kinda rebellious so she makes some friends behind Kai’s back including males. At times she has to lie to Kai about where she’s going out to so she can hang out with her friends. If she can’t she just has to ask Pops. What would that obnoxious, sex driven maniac, son of a bastard named Kai do when he finds out about her secret?
To be honest, I don’t see Kai taking as much of an interest in her if she wasn’t as submissive as she is. Part of what drew him to her in the first place was how soft and meek she is and he’s too much of a dominant to find a rebellious woman attractive. Kai is the kind of person that needs someone that he feels he has to take care of and coddle, someone who will view him as the center of their whole world and let him do as he pleases. He likes that feeling of superiority he gets when she has to ask him for help or when he sees her get all shy and nervous because of something he said or did.
But let’s just say for second that the Reader was this rebellious teenager going behind Kai’s back to make friends and do things with them, Pops would never help her lie to Kai about it. He’d tell her that either she tells Kai where she’s going or he’ll do it for her, but he won’t help her lie to his son and device him like that, just like he wouldn’t let Kai stop her from going if he knew about it.
The only reason he hasn’t stepped in in the actual story is because Kai and the Reader have this unspoken and silent agreement that Pops isn’t allowed to know just how much of her life is controlled by Kai. He thinks that the reason she comes home straight after school and doesn’t have friends over or spend time outside of the compound is solely because it’s what she wants, he’s completely unaware that it’s because of Kai.

I do absolutely plan on updating it in the future! I promise that I have no intention of abandoning any of my stories! (except for maybe Aos Sí, because I feel like I’ve lost all interest in that one to be honest..)
I’ve just hit a really big bout of writers block with ATLUH, I know exactly how the chapter is supposed to play out, but every time I sit down and try to put it into words, I can’t seem to do it. 😩 It’s very frustrating, because the following chapters are some of the ones I’ve been the most excited to write, but I have to get through this one first.
