How would that play out when nobody knows she's dating the Shark and suddenly he is storming in the ed because he heard nurses in ortho gossiping that she was attacked?

„Alright, sir, I'm just gonna make sure the IV sits right, and then I'm going to leave you alone, I promise.” You had your hands up in a defensive gesture and tried to calm the man in front of you down. But he was not having it tonight; he grabbed you by your arm and pulled you closer to him so he could pull his arm around your neck.
„No, sir-” Your voice was muffled as he choked you with his biceps. „You're hurtin' me, please... let... go.” You tried to get your hand between his arm and your neck but failed. You felt your chest getting tighter and breathing becoming harder. The corners of your vision went black from the dizziness he created, and you could hear the blood rushing into your head.
Suddenly the glass doors were being pushed open; people who you couldn’t identify rushed in and tackled the man to the ground, freeing you out of his grip. You began to cough terribly, and a feeling of relief mixed with sickness rose in you.
„Hey, hey, are you okay?”
What a dumb question, of course not, you thought as Dana’s voice became clearer. You violently shook your head, trying to find support in leaning against the cold wall outside the patient's room.
Dana hovered over you like a protective mom over her child and tried to get any further information about your well-being out of you. She looked over your neck, which had the color of an overripe cherry.
„This motherfucker will pay for that,” Dana hissed, shooting a glare in the man’s direction while he was being taken under control by the security service of the hospital.
„You don’t look fine to me, little one.” Donnie had joined the two of you, now checking over you as well.
The orthopedic department was hectic as always, and Park sat at his desk doing charts with his usual blank stare.
„Is that really true? He choked her so she passed out?” A whispering nurse’s voice reached his ear. With interest he moved his chair just a tiny, slight bit to the left, where the nurse talked to another one.
„Yeah, I'm telling you. Stacy said it was the nurse with the fish keychains, you know? The pretty one.“
Fish keychains? Brendon remembered your last birthday, where he had given you a pair of customized keychains with a small Red-Tailed Black Shark on them.
Like he was met by a flash, Park stood up from his chair, leaving his charts half done; he nearly knocked over his chair before running to the elevator. His mind drew out the worst possible scenarios of you. Park couldn't think straight anymore; he just wanted to find you and hold you and then find the motherfucker that had choked you. Or first finding the motherfucker who choked you and then holding you tight in his strong arms so you would feel save.
„Park, what are you doing here?“ Robby asked, completely confused by the sight of his colleague from the orthopedic department. The doctor got no answer because Brendon walked right past him as soon as he saw you leaning against the wall outside a loudly yelling patient's room, together with Donnie and Dana.
He breathed your name as he reached your side. „How are you,“
You looked up at his face and couldn't help but feel the anxiety rushing away now that he was near you. „I'm well,“
„Your neck doesn't look well, sweetheart.“ With caring eyes he took a look at the red bruises on your neck.
„Don't start like Donnie, please,“ you groaned and leaned your head against his tight chest.
„Sweetheart?“ Donnie's eyes nearly popped out of his head as confused as he was at the nickname.
„Got a better question, genius: who did this?“ Brendon asked with clenched teeth.
The nurse went quiet and pointed inside the room, where the officers were still working on calming down the violent patient.
Something like a low growl escaped your boyfriend's throat as his view came across the guy who hurt you that bad. He wanted to punch the aggressiveness out of the guy, wanted to see him beg for forgive-. A lightening feeling brought him out of his thoughts, and he noticed that you had moved your head away from his warming chest.
„Let's get a quieter room, what do you think?” he whispered as he saw that just about every person nearby that was working in the ED was looking at him.
„Dana, is it ok if I step out for a moment? Just some minutes.”
„Of course, dear. Take as much time as you need; in fact, I think it would be even better if you called it a day.” Dana's caring voice spoke softly to you.
„No, I don't want to let anyone down,” you shook your head in protest, but Donnie was quick to shut your thoughts down.
„You wouldn't let anyone down, little one. We'll survive without you, hmh.”
A somehow sad smile washed over your face, and you nodded before interlinking hands with your boyfriend and finding yourself an empty room.
„Darling, just say it and we will get in the car and drive home, ok?”
„I'm fine, babe, just need to rest a bit.” You reassured him.
Meanwhile, outside at the nurse station, the word of the shark being your boyfriend had spread like wildfire, and Princess couldn't stop talking about how obvious it now looked.
„I mean, the keychains of the fish, and I spoke to Tracy from ortho, and she also said that he once had a similar keychain.”
„Not to mention the pace he ran through our ED after he found out about the attack,” Perlah added.
„And have you guys noticed that every morning they come around the same time, and every evening they leave practically together?”
„Girls, let the lovebirds alone and get back to work, will ya?” said Dana in her motherly tone.
Brendon and you would have never thought your relationship would be made public because of a patient, but neither of you could change it now. You two were sure to be the top theme for the next several weeks, but that was ok, because now you didn't have to hide anything anymore.
