in 1939 hildy russet bought over 40 copies of detective comics #27 and nearly a century later her great great grandson falls for a guy who’s obsessed with the joker and bases his entire personality on different batman villains. much to think about.

Expanding on the idea that Willy was actually affected by Stud's death. Like yeah, he probably hated him to a very high extent, but Stud was his only family. His dad was horrible and drank himself to death, leaving Willy alone for the first time. Then Stud comes in, treats Willy like a son, and tries to be there. But the last thing Willy ever hears from Stud is about him going somewhere on a train, before he never sees him again. Willy didn't know that he was killed, he might have thought Stud just abandoned him. I think it's fair to assume that Stud's absence might have influenced Willy's behavior and actions further down the line.
I dunno...I just feel like we don't give enough attention to the fact that The Doodler killed Darryl's great-grandparents as though it were the Kraken. Like yes, Dood is intertwined with the Oaks, inextricably so, but that the start of their interaction with our cast actually started with the Wilsons is wild to me.

Hello friends! Clearly I am behind! I took a nose dive in terms of motivation for art BUT I enjoy doing the character sheets I've been doing so I do hope to finish them eventually! In the meantime: At the Mountains of Dadness!
Dadtober list by rubbish-convention under the cut! (Ft pics of my cat, Meryl, who was named not after the actress but specifically after this fuckin guy)
i wonder what the burial customs are for oakvale/faerun in general. i wonder if hildy had a grave, and if she did was it in oakvale? would barry have moved it away because it was a blight on the perfect village he made? would henry or the twins even know where it was if they ever wanted to visit her, tell her about earth and everything that changed, maybe leave her some flowers?
after code purple, her grave would move to old earth. hildy finally gets back home, but its corrupted and warped into this impossible, horrific place that resembles nothing of her home. would dood know its there? would dood go visit her grave, and would they be sad that hildy gets a grave, but stud, robert, and meryl dont?
