NOMINATE MICHAEL J. BOBBITT FOR A TONY AWARD
This is a request for the DC Theatre community to band together to nominate Michael J. Bobbitt for The Tony Awards® and Carnegie Mellon University’s Excellence in Theatre Education Award.
Mr. Bobbitt is the Producing Artistic Director and CEO of Adventure Theatre MTC; is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery, the Coaching Initiative for Non Profit Leaders of Color - National Training Laboratories & Mosaica and Harvard Business School’s Social Enterprise Initiative - Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management; serves on the board of theatreWashington, Rockville Chamber of Commerce, Non Profit Village and the American Alliance of Theatre and Education; has been a respondent for the Cohen New Works Festival at the University of Texas, The Junior Theatre Festival and the South Eastern Theatre Conference; has served on grants panels for The National Endowment for the Arts, The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Maryland State Arts Council; and received the 2015 EXCEL Leadership Award from the Center for Nonprofit Advancement.

For example, describe how Michael has made a difference in your life, your school or your community; or how he is working to advance and champion theatre education in today’s landscape.
Are you a colleague of Mr. Bobbitt’s?
Write a Letter of Reference for Mr. Bobbitt. Letters may be submitted by any individual including, but not limited to, a colleague in the candidate’s school, an academic advisor or current supervisor, a former student, or a community leader. Videos may not exceed three minutes in duration. Video must be in MOV, AVI or WMV format, minimum resolution 320x240.
Are there any people with video recording and editing experience who can make the video of students telling Michael J. Bobbitt’s story?
The deadline for all application materials including letters of recommendation is February 29, 2016. This is something we must all as a community work on together.
