Oh hey! Been a while, hasn’t it? I don’t think anyone actually reads this thing, but whatever.
We’re currently working on trying to make our horrible kitchen less visibly horrible. This weekend we took off all the extras around the cabinets, the trim around the window, and fixed the window base that literally had a baseboard there instead of the tile that is on the rest of the windows. Why it was there to begin with is beyond us. They put it right over top the tile though as we discovered. Sadly the tile couldn’t be saved cause they smashed up the part that went over the edge leaving a hole. So we just cut a thin piece of wood to cover it up.
I’ve bought some contact paper to put over the formica countertops and we bought some retro-ish looking handles from Lowes. Just need to figure out what color to paint the cabinets. Currently thinking the base ones a fun color and the top ones just white. We’re going to paint the wall as well, which I’m also thinking just white. But I need to mess around with my colors in photoshop some more I think.
So Phase One is; painting, hardware, and countertops. Phase Two we’ll change out the lighting and take on the big awkward post next to the island bar.stove.
