D is for Dirkse

My paternal great-grandfather was Willard Dirkse was born in 1903.  He was the son of Henry (Hendrik) Dirkse and Jennie/Janna Roerdink.  “Wih”, as my dad called him, was a middle child.  His parents had around 12 children in all between 1890 and 1910 (or so – I do not have birthdates for two of the children yet.)  They were all born in Wisconsin.  It seems that Wih had a variety of jobs over the…

A is for Aaron

Aaron Bice is probably my 5th Great Grandfather on my great-grandmother’s mother’s side.  I say probably because I have not  pulled together all of the document to prove this.  I discovered his name online around 15 years ago now.    I admit that I need to do more work on this line.
