So, the quarter quell. Celine and Rumi. Whos name is pulled, and does the other volunteer?
rumi's name is called and celine does not volunteer :}
in her defense . they all know about the rebel plot and are very aware of the likelihood of zoey and mira ALSO going back into the arena. the idea of any one of them having to sit out and watch their two lovers go through hell without getting to be there? i think they all would have gone insane, so the only reasonable option there to them (since they knew rumi, at the very least, was going to go in) was for all three of them to be in the arena together
plus, celine was a very big rebel planner + leader + lead the charge a lot when it came to everything in district 13. she's one of the older surviving victors (which really isn't saying much, but given the victor cull....) and is looked to as such; she's an authority figure who excels in getting things done, and rumi just wouldn't have been able to do what she was doing, not without mira and zoey
and also you know . jinu BAHGSFDHSDFG like he's going in there literally no matter what, there's no one to volunteer for him, and his best friend is rumi . they're like platonic soulmates and there is simply no world where celine goes out of her way to try and save him the same way rumi would, do. ultimately rumi has to go in that arena regardless
ask and you shall receive BAAHSGDHSDGF here are my kpdh x thg arenas!! @tis-i-espresso-magpie :D
these are in order of when they win! celine's arena isn't mentioned here because it's the standard 50th, i haven't really changed anything there!
under the cut because good god it's long
jinu's weird freak arena (64th games):
desert, 75% of the oases there are NOT REAL :bangbang::bangbang: THEY WILL KILL YOUR ASS THE WATER IS POISONOUS!!!!!!!!!
trial run for the 65th games; the 64th games are full of pods, but they're lowkey and generally don't detonate into Insane Things. they're largely mutt-based, specifically scorpions, and only erupt / go off when made direct contact with or during a certain event (like going into the water at the oasis, touching something, picking something up, etc etc. not pressure plate-based or sensitivity traps like rumi's)
jinu gets poisoned. So Many Times. like SO many fucking times. like it's not even funny how delirious and out of it he is by the time he manages to win. he only really gets by and gets away with being so out of it because the remaining tributes are ALSO going through Scorpion Madness
jinu's main skill here is that he's adaptable and clever; he's able to figure out the pods fairly quickly, and he's also inherently distrustful of the oases, so he doesn't trigger a lot of them out of pure distrust. his #1 way of staying alive is relying on food and drink from backpacks, which he usually gets off of dead tributes. he's not so much a Killer as he is a Scavenger here
it's never fully dark out, perpetual state of Light? the moon is always full and it seems to Move depending on how you look at it. 64th games has some insane shit going on with the sky, deliberately modified to make the tributes more unaware and more panicked / violent during nighttime, especially since half of them are Actively Hallucinating
jinu recognises this fast, he avoids the weird arches where the moon can look at you like an eye because that always seems to trigger mutts going off. during the night, he usually stares really hard at the ground when he walks and prays that he's not going to fall into a giant pit or something; this is the right way to go about it. it's risky, but it keeps him safe from the Nighttime Horrors In The Sky, so it works!
looking at the moon directly doesn't trigger any pods or anything to happen, but it DOES freak the tributes out because There Is Something Wrong With The Moon.
desert seemingly never ends; lots of stretches of nothingness, a few canyons, some cliffs / rocky / mountainous areas scattered on the borders. there's some wreckage around but it's largely kept to one section of the arena. some sections of the arena are a little more Alive without being an oasis. most food can be found in those more alive patches, like rabbits and hares and birds. snakes are ALSO very common!
~5 total oases? maybe less? it's a BIG fucking arena but they need to be kind of pushed together so idk. maybe less maybe more who knows. not me!
water is poisonous to touch and drink more often than it's not. also. scorpion attack. ten billion scorpions.
arena definitely changes colour. just like btw. Nighttime Hell is already happening and then when there's like 5 tributes left suddenly the world is a very fun shade of orange and no one likes this. i do think so much of jinu's time is spent with him trying to figure out ways to navigate his arena with his eyes CLOSED :bangbang: kind of works out honestly since the entire arena is designed to Drive You Fucking Insane
he spends a lot of time in the canyons / caves. helps with the heat too! he does unfortunately get pushed out by ten billion scorpions but he DOES try really hard to stick to darker areas since they seem to be the least affected by the whole. disco party in the sky or whatever the fuck's going on there
desert temperature fluctuates Also for fun! days can be Scathing hot and nights can be Freezing Cold but sometimes it's the opposite! and you never know when it's going to happen! as a treat!
this is like one of the biggest reasons why jinu sticks to the caves as much as he's able to. the temps there aren't like…better. but they're a little more consistent and less Full Tilt to one side or the other
rumi's even worse weird freak arena (65th games):
ok so the images aren't even quite what i want just because they still have life and they're not completely grey BAHSDFGHDGF rumi's cityscape hellscape is ALL fucking grey. ALL GREY! ALL METAL! NO LIFE! NONE! AT ALL! THERE IS NO PLANT LIFE AT ALL!!!!! there are no plants, the only animals are rats and they get Stalagmited Often, and to top it all off, there is VERY LITTLE SUNLIGHT!!!!
the arena is in a perpetual state of darkness, specifically early in the morning right before the sun fully rises. minimal light, Low Light, etc. very dark and very depressing, the shift from being In The Arena to being Out Of The Arena is very rough for rumi
the main section of the arena is obviously the city, but there are several pockets of ruins / scrap metal scattered throughout. those usually have some supplies hidden within, but they're also usually dangerous and have at least One Or Two pods, so it's a huge risk/reward kinda thing
lots of buildings have multiple floors; rumi utilises the rooftops a lot for travel because there aren't nearly as many pods on the fallen beams between buildings. there are in fact pods on the rooftops though so yk. you win some you lose a lot
65th game is FULL of pods! like. all of them ever! Every Single Pod In The World is in this arena in particular. for the most part they're the awful tar wire traps that mitchell gets to experience, but a lot of them also explode, there are others that release Stalagmites, some of them shoot knives / spikes out of the ground. basically the entire arena is a walking minefield
these pods are activated by pressure plates; you have to pay attention to where you're walking to avoid them, though a lot of them are VERY well hidden. it's not impossible to find them, you just have to. you know. get really good at it really quickly (rumi does, but her main solution is also keeping a handful of rocks at all times to throw ahead of her when she walks, purposefully setting of traps before she can accidentally trigger them)
once triggered, pods don't generally reset, but sometimes they do! depends on the pod! the stalagmite ones usually will reset, it just takes a few hours to days depending (hard to keep track of, a lot of the city deliberately looks the same so you can't completely backtrack or remember where things are)
lightning storms are incredibly common. best bet is to get inside somewhere and to just like. pray. given how literally everything is metal, there's no Real safety it is ALL vibes and luck BAHDGFHDG this is also one of the only chances to get water other than from packs, so you sort of have to weigh your options on if it's worth being out in the open
all food + water largely come from backpacks like the 50th games! there are a few pipes that produce water but it's not clean, and there are technically rats, but that's not really like. a great option either. packs are well-stocked, and it helps that a LOT of tributes die very quickly, so rumi is always stocked up on food + water (plus she's getting sponsors)
a LOT of tributes die on day 1, not even to the bloodbath, just to the arena. the 65th games are insanely short; like….3ish days? 4 maybe? CRAZY short, and it's entirely because so many of the tributes are dying to the pods. no one has any time to starve to death because they're all actively being Stalagmited
still, keeping track of the days is difficult because there's no day/night cycle. the sky never changes, rumi is somewhat convinced it's been between 2 - 5 days in the arena
no real mutts, sometimes there are distorted voices and cries coming from other parts of the city; are these real? who knows! whenever rumi hears them, she IMMEDIATELY flees
there is one whole fountain of water. this is a trap. it WILL tar wire trap you. rumi never interacts with it because she's so pushed into the city almost immediately, but she sees it in the rewatch and man. it's brutal!
mira's Mostly Nice arena (67th games):
infinitely nicer than rumi + jinu's arenas BAHDGSHFG the capitol really went "oh man :/ those last few games haven't been lasting very long. let's go easy on 'em!"
rolling fields, wheat fields, very open with very little high ground. there are a few foothills, but they're largely still open and visible. there is One whole river that loops in a circle around the arena with a few scattered trees + a meadow that kills you instantly (poisonous, full of tracker jackers + mutts. entices you in by seeming like a good place to rest, Instant Death.)
HEAVY emphasis on very little high ground. the fields are sometimes tall enough that you can't see other tributes, but in Mira's Case Specifically? she's pretty much always hunched over or staying low because she's so fucking tall that it's pretty much impossible for her to be entirely obscured from view
no real alterations when it comes to the sky / weather / time, but fires are VERY prone to striking and burning through the fields; this happens Several times, mira is always fine and is casually by the river with her 20 sponsored burn ointments, but she DOES watch it happen and considers using it as a way to kill flushed-out tributes (never can make herself do it)
other than the fires, the most naturally damaging thing in the arena is the constant sun during the day. there's very little shade, so heatstroke is common and a few tributes definitely die from not being able to cool down or have enough water. the river + trees are pretty much considered Bloodbath Spots because EVERYONE wants to be there, but the career pack is actively hunting and patrolling that section of the arena
fire 100% moves and spreads way faster than it realistically should. it's hard to outrun and acts like the segments in the 75th games where you kind of just have to get to another section of the arena since outrunning it isn't really an option
would be interesting if the fire caused both Normal Fire Burns and also Chemical Burns like the 50th games did when the volcano erupted! you never know which one you're gonna get! good luck! both are bad!
animals are common! deer, rabbits, birds, mice, etc. most of the animals stick to the river and the foothills, but some venture out into the actual fields, specifically the mice. there's less food + water in the backpacks since the arena generally provides enough for the tributes to at least manage to get by
mutts are somewhat common, probably like….bears?? i think some weird fucked up mutated animals fallout-style could be really cool and bears would be INSANE. yeah get it 67th games! bear attack! 20 billion bears Arriving At Your Location Imminently
most of the fields are short enough that you need to stay low, but some are so high that you can't tell if you're going to run into someone until it Actually Happens. with the fires, the fields are warping and ""regrowing"", so the positioning changes very frequently. it goes largely unnoticed because most of the tributes are constantly on the move, but it's definitely still happening!
even the "high ground" isn't that useful, and it's sort of like a win-lose? you get to see the tributes in the fields, but then you're also very obviously up high and visible to everyone else, and there's not very many options on Where To Go from there
river is NOT poisonous! it's actually totally fine and normal you just have to boil it as you would normally
definitely has fish, that's another good food source if the river wasn't such a spawncamping spot BAHHAHAGDFHD
rain is less common, still happens, but it's infrequent. they REALLY want those guys to go to the fucking river. amen
the river is most accessible by the cornucopia; it DOES go all the way around, but it gets progressively further and further out, so it's a lot of walking, which is more exhaustion, which is in fact Deadly. Amen.
zoey's really fun arena that is specifically evil to her and her alone (68th games):
mountainous, rocky cliffs with a wide, vast beach! the rocky cliffs slowly fade into a deep forest that gets Darker And Darker the further you go (day/night cycle slowly stops existing, mutts run rampant, the entire point of that is so the tributes stay close to the beach and aren't lost in the deep forest)
THE OCEAN IS FAKE IT'S EVIL IT'S WRONG IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE AN OCEAN SHOULD!!!!!!! admittedly this is largely only a problem for the d4 tributes, but it is OPPOSITE!!! when the ocean recedes, sometimes it's fine! sometimes it's not! sometimes huge waves crash onto the beach and sometimes they Get Really Close To Tsunami Height. the ocean is always doing SOMETHING and it's never what it SHOULD be doing!
zoey is plagued by this. this is the worst thing that could have ever happened to her. like ever. she's freaking out and frantically getting to high ground only for the ocean to do ??? nothing at all ??? AND THEN THERE'S A HURRICANE!??!!??!
she still figures out the ocean VERY quickly; adapts insanely fast, pays a lot of attention to it, does her best to throw out any previous knowledge she had of Her ocean in favour of trying to survive this one, and she does a Very good job at it
lots of animals + food + water! the main sources of water are winding rivers throughout the forest, but those are admittedly small and more Creek-Like than anything; a lot of the tributes don't know that you Do Not Drink Ocean Water, so that's a pretty big issue
lots of berries + flowers + forageables, lots of rabbits and deer! there are ALSO a lot of wolves and bears and MOOSE. MANY MOOSE. AT LEAST ONE TRIBUTE DIES TO A MOOSE. there are also crabs + fish + weird freak fish mutts in the ocean that like to attack when you get too close to the water. the beach also has beach snakes littered around hidden in the sand
genuinely this arena is like. so normal. there's a lot of food! there's water! the day/night cycle is normal! there isn't any insane weather! the ocean, However. lots of mini tsunamis / hurricanes, trees falling are very common due to the aforementioned mini tsunamis and hurricanes. there aren't many forest fires or like…lightning storms though! so. you know. we take what we can get
at most it's like…rainy more often than not? so it's usually cold and foggy, but hypothermia is only a real threat a few days in and depending on how deep you are in the forest. making fires is harder but not impossible because of this, and wearing wet clothes day in and day out is a problem, but some of the backpacks have tarps / extra jackets / layers in general to circumvent this problem
even in the Deep Forest there's not a lot of weird weather, there's just. you know. mutts. mutts and everything there is poisonous and will either kill you or make you severely hallucinate
most tributes stay out of the deep forest and stick to the cliffs and beach. the coast is fucking HUGE and the beach goes on for a while, so there's plenty of space to sort of just….exist around. there's also a handful of caves before the cliffs and right by the beach, which also act as good places for tributes to stick around / rest in
dying from being pushed off of a cliff is common i fear. zoey is definitely pulling that at least once or twice. drowning is ALSO very common, whether by accident or because of someone else! bet she's doing that one too! sorry zoey!
honestly there are so many more ways to die in this arena and most of them come from Other Tributes for once rather than the environment. there are definitely still a few tribute deaths that come from accidents, but largely most tributes do die because of another tribute
the animals also act wrong! they will lead you to Death. they are not afraid of you. The Deer Will Fight Back. The Rabbits Bite. The Birds Swarm. Good Luck!
something about this round of arena details has unlocked so many questions about atpg in me. how many tributes have they each killed in their initial games? how are huntrix + jinu perceived publicly / in their districts / by each other before & directly after meeting? did kimmy & miyeong do some stupid self-sacrificing shit for Celine to win the 50th games? were jinu & rumi frenemies or strangers before their respective games? i need to knowwww
I HAVE ANSWERS TO ALL OF THESE!!!! under the cut it's long BAHSDHSDGF
how many tributes have they each killed in their initial games?
jinu killed three directly and left one for dead; so really only the first three count, but he did play a role in the deaths of the last
rumi killed four directly and had a hand in SEVERAL other deaths due to the nature of her arena - this is to say that she was. Actively Getting Other Tributes Stalagmited. oops!
mira killed two other tributes. she couldn't stomach the first time and largely avoided the other tributes unless pushed toward them and even then she avoided killing as much as she could
zoey killed four other tributes, mostly via The Horrible Ocean
celine killed seven and will not talk about it alongside the rest of her games
how are huntrix + jinu perceived publicly?
jinu, rumi, and mira are all desirable victors and are treated as such. jinu honestly was only seen as desirable after his games and was seen as very...Weird? he was very stick-thin and scrappy and kind of a mess AND he's d12 so no one expected much from him until he managed to completely work out the arena and keep himself alive
in the capitol he's viewed as both very pretty and very clever! he's seen as kind of arrogant, Unfortunately d12, flirty, and sort of insufferable? capitolites eat that up but a lot of other victors don't like him because of it. he's never been viewed as a super dangerous victor so he doesn't hold that charm / appeal, he's just seen as a pretty face who used to be smart
rumi is VERY popular because of her relation to celine, and more specifically miyeong. it's a very well-known fact that she's related to ryu miyeong who was the second female tribute in the 50th games, and while usually the connection isn't made, it happens because miyeong was in the second quarter quell and it's not exactly a secret that celine was the one raising rumi once she came back from the arena
rumi is seen as friendly, sincere, VERY DANGEROUS but capitolites don't have to worry about her Obviously, and she's generally very well-liked! she's popular and gets along with a lot of other victors, she's known for being a lot more like....passive? tame? she jokes around with capitolites and pretends and is very well-mannered, but she has about a dozen different personas she can switch into depending on the person, so everyone's opinion on her is a little varied other than the "i like her!" part
mira is unfortunately the most desirable out of the victors; she's seen as a prize and a luxury and a standard d1 victor. there's disappointment surrounding her lack of kills in the arena, but there's a subsection of the capitol that suggest she just was bored and didn't Have to kill to win. she's viewed as beautiful and Wanted and there are a lot of fashion trends that spark because of her (and her stylist, romance, who is her #1 Enemy)
she's also viewed as very angry, mean, cold, and blunt. she also Cannot be those things as a victor who primarily spends all her time in the capitol, so she largely comes across as stoic and aloof; she's the closest to capitol a district citizen could ever get, and capitolites almost treat her like a lower-class capitol citizen than a d1 victor
zoey is seen as VERY friendly!! she's outgoing and sweet and bubbly, she's not desirable at all in the capitol's eyes. she's seen as very childlike and juvenile and gets treated as such; the capitol kind of views her as ditzy and in the clouds. she's GREAT with capitol kids and people rarely have anything bad to say about her
once she's a little older she's allowed to have more of a personality, so she's seen as quick-witted and charming, kind of clever. she's still not seen as a threat or anything more than just an average d4 victor, so she's kind of left alone. there was a bit of controversy in d1 and d2 specifically around her victory (given the ocean) but that never really went anywhere and she didn't have to deal with much of it
celine is. haymitch.
...in their districts?
jinu is treated Horribly . he came from a poor coal family, his dad dying years prior to his reaping. he mostly supported his family by playing music in the hob, but that didn't last for very long before he was reaped. bluntly he's seen as a capitol whore and a district traitor because of what select capitol news gets back to d12. he's viewed very lowly and most people refuse to interact with him
he's ALSO viewed as very skeevy and as a thief because he was in fact a thief prior to being robbed. his reputation was already kind of in the mud even before him being reaped and sold out to capitolites . this eventually changes once he's one of the like...Six remaining victors alive post-rebellion, but he never will forget how he was treated
rumi is widely loved by d12 and always has been! she was communally raised in the time celine and miyeong were in the arena because her father, riwoo, was covey and was murdered over false charges. she's friendly and outgoing and helpful, and she gets treated like an upper-class d12 citizen mostly rather than as a victor
when it comes to her peers or people she used to be close-Ish to prior to her reaping, she's seen as uptight and isn't treated well by them. she kind of loses all of her friends and even like acquaintances and becomes untrustworthy to them, so she experiences a lot of isolation in her age group besides like. jinu
mira is treated exactly how all other d1 victors are - she's ignored, publicly praised, and left to her own devices. the victor culture in d1 is a lot more established than in most other districts; d1 is Expected to have victors, and mira was a volunteer at that, so she was very much so Expected to win. she's allowed to live her life however she wants from there, and d1 won't care either way. sometimes a d1 victor will have an almost cult-like following within their district, but it's very rare
in mira's head, her entire district hates her and wants nothing to do with her. she's isolated from everyone her age + just Everyone Generally because of her new victor status, and she's more or less just...alone now. it doesn't really matter much because she's not in d1 anymore* for very long
(*i've messed around with the idea of "desirable" victors, especially when it comes to district 1 victors, but all other victors are included! generally, if a victor is desirable enough, they'll be in the capitol 90% of their time. if they aren't desirable or aren't desirable enough, they'll be in their district 90% of the time. this is also enforced by the president to draw more lines between victors and district citizens, to make them outcasts, to align them firmly with the capitol even despite the victors themselves not wanting that)
zoey is adored by her district! she was always very Out There and has spent a lot of her life getting to know everyone in district 4 (""everyone"" is a huge overstatement but yk what i mean) and has always been seen as very helpful and sincere and sweet, very charming too!! victor culture in d4 is a little different than a lot of districts because district 4 is just . odd and strange. but the general consensus is that the district follows the victor's lead - in zoey's case, not much as changed!
she's sometimes treated better and other times she's treated like she's meant to be feared. for the most part though, she's well-respected and her victor status is never Forgotten, but it can be overlooked with how "normal" she tries to make herself be. she does NOTTT like being seen as a victor and most of d4 respects that and just sees her as choi zoey, a fisherman :}
celine is very, very pitied. she's looked on unfavourably, but a lot of the district finds it hard to hate her entirely because of all she's been through. she's compared to miyeong a lot behind closed doors and is generally regarded as "the tribute who would have always won, but miyeong would have done better"
...by each other before & directly after meeting?
tying in your jinu and rumi-exclusive question in this one too!! rumi was very....isolated. VERYYY isolated. she spent a lot of her life being kept under tight wraps and was heavily trained for the possibility of her going into the arena because of how severely paranoid celine was (and . celine was unfortunately right about that one), so rumi barely had friends as-is, and the only "friends" she did have came from classmates, but even then it was. rough
rumi and jinu DID know each other beforehand! she saw him as a loser thief freak and he saw her as uptight and a dick, but they never saw each other very often because of the Slight age difference and because they had wildly different home lives + standings within their district
they kind of consider their first official Meeting to be the first day in the train after rumi was reaped. celine had totally shut down, leaving Freshly Won Victor Park Jinu to kind of take the reins here. in his defense . he did! him and rumi also fought crazy hard and didn't get along very much, but he swore to keep her alive and he pulled through with that, both with his training and with him using his status as a desirable victor to pull more sponsors for her later on in her games
they get really close as time goes by and rely on each other very heavily back in 12
rumi and mira....man. rumi immediately recognises the fact that mira is desirable from the moment she volunteers, all throughout her games, and then finally once she wins. rumi Knows mira is angry and is hateful and bitter and she makes it her life goal to set out and tell mira to STOP SHOWING THAT or else she's going to be swarmed
their first meeting does . not go well. rumi effectively corners mira and tells her all the ways to pretend so as to not be desirable on her victory tour in the eyes of the capitol, mira thinks she's insane and wants nothing to do with her, but she still ultimately ends up listening. it doesn't work as planned, and they end up spending a lot more time together after that
it is a VERY rocky relationship; rumi is bad at letting go or backing off, so she kind of just pops up in mira's apartment or corners her on elevators to try and work out how she's doing. mira very much so does not want this freak in her personal space but . rumi is oddly nice. so. whatever
they then of course enter a romantic relationship with each other :}
mira and jinu have very few interactions between each other (largely because mira does not fucking like him) but they also have respect for each other through rumi. mira does NOT like that rumi and jinu are in an active cover-up dating situation to hide rumi's real relationship with her (and to hide jinu's real relationship with a d1 victor in the form of abby), but whatever . they get along reasonably well after mira stops genuinely wanting him to die
rumi and mira both share very similar feelings about zoey once they see her get reaped - she's very like...she's kind of a performer and they both see that. they're both able to tell that she could be a victor dependant on the arena she's thrown into. they ultimately don't pay a lot of attention to her because they have their own tributes to mentor, but they do keep her in the back of their minds
and then she wins!
they're kind of head over heels for her as soon as they're actually introduced BAHSDJSDHF like rumi is very much so nervous around her and mira is ALSO nervous and they both feel like bad people for having a crush on this freshly traumatised victor . not like zoey minds! she is SO HAPPY TO NOT BE ALONE OH MY GOD PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME GO BACK TO DISTRICT 4 WITH MY DEAD DISTRICT PARTNER PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLE
anyways!
they get close fast BAHSGDSJHDFG zoey relies heavily on rumi and mira for a while. she's never been a big like....victor fan??? she knows who they are and watched both of them win because she's only about two years younger than them, but she never really kept up with them outside of that. she's always thought both of them were very kind though! rumi especially!
so rumira share the thought of "oh no i might be so fucked" while zoey is giddy and going "I AM NOT LETTING EITHER OF THEM DITCH OUT ON ME EVER."
zoey and jinu get along pretty well! she's a little jealous of him at first because she thinks that he's dating rumi (given the fact that they are telling everyone they are dating. reasonable assumption to make here) but that dwindles pretty quickly! jinu thinks of zoey like his little sister and she thinks of him like an older brother, and they get along very well :}
jinu mira and zoey Do Not Like Celine. zoey tries to be more compassionate, mira never manages to even get that far, and jinu holds a deep bitterness toward her because she most certainly did NOT help him win AND she left him on his own to try and keep rumi alive
did kimmy & miyeong do some stupid self-sacrificing shit for Celine to win the 50th games?
it would almost be better if they had i fear
out of all of them celine was the one who had the biggest tendency for self-sacrifice, and she went into that arena with the full intent on dying so miyeong would be the victor. like she was dead set on only getting so far so she could set miyeong up for victory, it seemed like the obvious thing to do in her head and so that's what she did
and then there was kimmy. they met and got close during training and formed an alliance together. they went into the arena together and stuck with each other the Entire Time; it got to the point where they almost forgot only one of them could get out alive, and all of celine's plans were pointing to miyeong, but now kimmy is there, and celine Does Not Want Kimmy To Die, but if she wants miyeong to win, that's exactly what has to happen
it's a really really awful situation to be in for all three of them. they all try their best to keep each other alive and pretend like they don't know what's coming at the end of this
kimmy is ultimately the one between the three of them who dies first. she's separated from the two of them via an eruption from the volcano. celine and miyeong eventually find her on the brink of death, and celine mercy kills her
miyeong is killed by another tribute; she's top five, so celine still has to spend time in that arena where her plan has suddenly shifted to Her being the one to win. she doesn't leave miyeong's side until she's forced away by peacekeepers and arena techs. she spends most of her time hunting down other tributes because she needs to get back to district 12 to make sure rumi was okay
more for . celine.
i hope that answered your questions!! god i love atpg and aaatpg SO BAD
you got a hunger games × kpdh au?? put me on that real quick. the way I would be on that so quick. any amount oneshots, long fic , short fic , tagfic, ramble, I would wait forever for a crumb of that au plssssss
I DO!!!!! IN THEORY!!!!!!!!! it isn't posted anywhere, but it IS in my head literally all the time BAHSDGSHDGF
quick guide. i have:
all the pretty girls (atpg) - my main kpdh x thg au, it's what i'd consider my "canon" kpdh x thg au! it starts from rumi's games and progresses all the way through to the end of the hunger games themselves / the rebellion / the aftermath! no canon thg characters other than the ones i like . need (ie. snow, caesar, coin, MAYBE plutarch but i hate that fucking guy so bad that i likely would not make that much use of him BAJASDHFG) + i'd probably write about jinu and celine's games also at some point!
you got close to god and i got farther / ann arbour / aaatpg (ann arbour atpg . do you see the joke .) - the atpg au! aaaptg if you will :} in atpg, rumi and mira meet immediately post mira's games and develop a relationship and are very close before they meet zoey together and go from there in aaatpg, mira pushes rumi away and completely ices her out, and she only reconvenes with her and zoey AFTER the rebellion is over and the war has been won; it follows a version of mira who hasn't gotten the help or community she needed when she was a teenager, which expectedly makes everything so much worse
the fic i've been working on has been aaatpg! atpg has a very special place in my heart and i really love all that i've had planned for it, but idk aaatpg just kind of like....Does Things to me BASHDGHSDFG oh also. additional notes about both atpg and aaatpg, starting with atpg -
atpg
rumira into "eventual" polytrix (eventual in quotes because it happens pretty fast after they like . meet zoey BASHDGFHSDGF there's just the whole process of that happening)
alternating pov! i don't think there'd be like a specific order but idk i haven't gotten that far BAHSDGF
effectively every single kpdh character is a victor with the exception of bobby! celine wins the 50th games, jinu wins the 64th, rumi wins the 65th, mira wins the 67th, and zoey wins the 68th! celine is 18 when she wins, jinu is 16, rumi is 15, mira is 17, and zoey is 16 at the time of their victories
celine, jinu, and rumi are all from d12! mira and abby are d1, zoey is d4, and bobby is a capitol stylist, specifically for d12!
miyeong is d12 and has covey roots . my name for rumi's dad is riwoo and he's ALSO from d12 and is covey. my name for thirdlight is kimmy, and she's from d4!
miyeong and celine were reaped from d12 for the 50th hunger games; they meet and form an alliance with kimmy who they very quickly become close with
miyeong IS rumi's biological mom! she has rumi a few months prior to being reaped at age 18, SO sorry miyeong
while rumi is technically covey, celine refuses to tell her anything about the covey + their history out of fear of rumi being killed
rumi is NOT volunteer and neither was celine! jinu is also not a volunteer, zoey is Definitely not a volunteer. you know who was a volunteer? mira :}
atpg deals with a lot of very serious topics and sensitive content that we see in the hunger games, so i'll have about ten billion warnings for everything i have planned because quite frankly it's going to be a Lot
i have notes for aaatpg also!
aaatpg
established zoerumi rather than established rumira; they get together shortly after zoey's games and are together all throughout the fic
i don't thiiiinnkkk there would be alternate povs in the main fic? it's meant to be a very mira-focused fic, so it's at least her pov for 99% of the fic if not all of it, but i'll never say never because who knows really BAHSDGFHSDGF
fic starts After the war has been won, starting with paylor talking to the remaining victors about what to do next + where they can find support. this leads to zoey kind of worming her way into mira's business and offering to let her stay with her and rumi back in d12
mira says yes because the thought of going back to d1 is enough to make her want to actually kill herself, and she is NOT fucking staying in d13, and the capitol has largely been destroyed so. she's got nowhere to go. and also she's spent time with rumi, zoey, and jinu because they were star squad 451 and brought down the capitol :} she also, of course, knows rumi more personally because rumi tried to help her after her victory, to which mira completely iced her out and burnt that bridge the best she was able to
pretty much everything else is transferred over from atpg in the sense of who won which games, the districts they're from, etc etc. the like...establishing information is still the same
very focused on healing and the Aftermath through mira's pov, alongside the horrible guilt and shame she feels about Everything She's Ever Done Ever And All She's Been Made To Do
i know i have more and i actually have notes about all of their arenas! (other than celine's since that's just the same as the actual 50th arena) and man. man! those arenas. i . am no better that coriolanus snow truly with the horrific shit i have made atpg!rumi specifically endure so sorry atpg!rumi
all the pretty girls 👀 (is the title a Renee Rapp reference?)
it's actually from "all the pretty girls" by KALEO!!! :D
this one is my terrible awful hunger games x kpdh crossover BAHAHA d12 victor rumi, d1 victor mira, d4 victor zoey! initial rumira into polytrix (solely because zoey gets reaped last) starting from the 65th games, aka rumi's! it's. not good. a lot of awful things happen as is expected for the hunger games
it jUST hit me like a tonne of bricks why didn't i notice sooner- That when luffy is thinking of their fusion with zoro right; It's in grayscale, and that's just how luffy sees and whY DIDN'T I PICK UP ON THAT EARLIER IT MAKES SENSE ACK- These small attentions to detail man.
