Hey Guys! So, Every last Saturday of the month I’m going to do something a little different. And right now I’m going to talk about one of the fairytales of Ever After High.
And what better fairytale than the main one: Snow White.
Also Known as snow white and the seven dwarves or little snow white.
I’m a little surprised we haven’t seen any kids of the dwarves at ever after to be honest, being such an important part of the story and all. Perhaps there is always just the same seven dwarves who have been a part of all the snow white stories? Who knows. They didn’t even have names until a Broadway production of the story.
We all know about the Poison apple, magic mirror, and if you have a really good memory, the glass coffin. But did you know in older versions of the tale the queen tried other methods to do apple in? Her first attempt was the huntsman of course, but she also tried to suffocate her with a silk corset or bodice, and then she brushes snow’s hair with a poison comb before getting to the apple.
Another thing to note is that a kiss doesn’t wake Snow, it’s some clumsy servants, they handle the glass coffin so roughly that the poison apple in her throat is dislodged and thus she wakes up.
Oh, and at snow’s wedding she invites her step mother, the queen, and then gifts her a nice pair of glowing hot iron shoes for her to dance in until she drops dead. You know, for the murder attempts and the wanting to eat snow’s organs.
Many versions of the tale have the queen wanting to eat parts of snow white. This is because of the myth of witches eating hearts.
As for similar tales, there is a tale with the same plot known as The Dead Princess and The Seven Knights. It’s the same but with knights instead of dwarves. (Maybe Apple would like this version a little better.)
There is also a tale that shares snow whites name, Snow White and Rose Red. I think it would be interesting if both snow whites were the same person in ever after. It’s quite a cute tale aside from the death of the dwarf.
