I’ve never read the manga, but I greatly enjoy the anime! It’s so action-packed, and I love the animation style. Here are a few different crafting tutorials that I found useful:
hey guys recently i made some patches for my armin arlert cosplay!! i thought it might be helpful to make a tutorial of this since you can make it using easy to get materials and it barely cost me anything!! from what ive seen on ebay and such a full set of patches can be around $50. look under the cut and remember that this is a image heavy tutorial
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
white felt
fabric paint (blue, white, grey, dark grey) also a note for part of the patches i did use acrylic paint and it worked just fine!! just make sure to seal it later to make sure its waterproof and doesnt get ruined later!!
a ruler (i didnt use one oops but this may be helpful for some)
a pen/pencil
okay so first off i found a reference like this one and worked off of this:
then i got my white felt and free handed a basic overall shape!! (mines not entirely accurate sorry)
i just so happen to making another patch for my sister whos cosplaying hanji, so i just doubled it. i cut them out and they should look like this
i tried to copy the basic design and drew on the shape (messily) dont worry if yourrs looks like this too itll be cleaned up later when you paint it!!
i put the patch on the back on my jacket to make sure it was the correct size and that it would be aligned right. everything looks good so far!! continue on uwu*
alright heres the fun part: painting. i shouldve used fabric paint but i didnt,, so basically i used light grey to paint the backround first.
then do the outline...
loooooking gooood !!!
okay then fill in the blue and even though your using white felt paint in the spaces with white fabric paint! the pen/pencil marks you made before gotta be covered up with the paint .
woah!!!! your finished!!! just make sure you lay on a couple layers of paint if needed 8)
you can use this tutorial not only for the back patches, but for the smaller ones too!! have fun !!
