@neveralarch wrote transformers into a fencing AU! And oh mannnn, it’s TASTY. All the things in here with characters are so good, and Starscream especially is perfection. Wheeljack is amazing, Skywarp is great, Waspinator is precious, it’s all so fun to read and I got so emotionally invested!
I highly, highly recommend it even if you know nothing about fencing. I knew like... a couple terms from briefly, briefly being on my school’s fencing team, but basically had forgotten everything I ever knew about the rules. And I didn’t need to know! The background knowledge enhances the story, but the story is still perfectly comprehensible without it, and the characters talk in a way that makes it very accessible even without knowing about fencing. I’d known I liked neveralarch’s writing (crash and carry is also gr8), but I hadn’t been sure how well I’d be able to follow a story this specialized, but it works really well and is so much fun, and everyone totally needs to read it
