SUPERSTAR SM FIGHTERS #6

BaekHyun CANDY

If we were to have an overall champion cherry in SM, it would be this guy. For a good reason! (Yes, Peace is not sarcastic all the time! I realized champion is synonymous with bad things here) 

This crazy cherry (or cherries because all 3 are lovely) came in the order of rhythm, vocal and dance one by one without me having to spend an extra diamond collecting any!! WAHUUUU a miracle in SM’s nasty card algorithm! 

But here’s the craziest part. These guys shot from R1 to R33 in less than one month with close to 0 cards wasted on futile tries, overtaking the most burdensome, headache-inducing TVXQ! cherries that we spent so much money/time collecting and yet they decided to LTSF. So okay, bye TVXQ! 

WELCOME TO THE FIGHTERS CLUB, BAEKHYUN!!! <3 

If every cherry was like Baekhyun, the game will seriously go bankrupt. But who am I to talk about profits right, I can’t even handle my game’s finances LOL still, I’m benefiting from this economy!!

TVXQ! 

DBSK! DONG BANG SHIN KI! U KNOW YUN HO! CHOI KANG CHANG MIN! STEP UP YOUR GAME. 

Yes, this is our new fan chant for you, our iconic duo. (It’s so weird to say duo, I’ve always known DBSK to be 5. OK, gonna shut my mouth before the antis come to sue me) 

If you’ve read our rotten cherries of May 2020 post, you would have known about their inexplicable brotherhood and most infamous LTSF - “Level up? Together. Stagnate? Forever”. 

YUNHO & CHANGMIN & YUNHO & CHANGMIN

Yes, there’s no better way to explain these cards than to classify them together because they are the epitome of brotherhood. And a very annoying one. They stick by LTSF and aim to be of the same stars all while refusing to budge for fear that they will be separated by level. 

Also, with reference to the Taemin post, we have broken our mantra and we have concluded that we are also slaves to the superficial things of this world. We ditched Drop & Life for The Chance because the cards were nicer huhu. Who knows if we might change it to Circle or Bounce once we get a full team. 

Stagnate forever and we will expel you from our fighters. We are *this* close to swapping you out with Baekhyun.

SUPERSTAR SMTOWN Fighters #4

EXO-K

SOMEONE CALL THE DOCTOR 날 붙잡고 말해 줘. Yes, someone call the doctor, the surgeon, the hospital, the A&E because this team has given us one of the longest headaches in the century. 6 cherries, 5 trash attitudes, 4 never-ending nightmares. 

Overdose Suho

They said “slow and steady wins the race”. Well, or at least it gets you to 2nd place. Slow at the start and refusing to inch his golden butt up, Suho began catching up with the rest of the cherries when they all decided to show some attitude at various points of time. Overall, a good cherry leader. 

Overdose Baekhyun

Baekhyun is the saving grace, the cherry ace of the team, the reason why there’s one less trash attitude in this team. This crazy OP cherry never lets you down and levels up so quickly that you actually contemplate just channeling everything to him to make him 99 stars and leave the rest of the burdens in the dust. Just meritocracy things. 

Overdose Chanyeol

Park - Pretty please,

Chan - Can you level up?

Yeol - You've been stuck at 15 stars for a while. 

Overdose D.O

Ah, another specimen of the unfavoured syndrome. Except this one dislikes us as much as we dislike him. So I guess we’re even? 

Overdose Kai

If there’s an overall placing for the most hopeless and burdensome cherry in all 4 games, it’s Kai. You’re not even rotten, you’re just outright decayed. This abominable cherry was the first EXO-K R card and yet it decided to sit it’s obstinate butt down at 10 stars to watch Baekhyun go from an S card to an R card to 26 stars. We are completely speechless. 

Overdose Sehun

Yes, you are the youngest. Yes, you have an RBF. But no, this does not grant you the permission to stage a mutiny on our ship, you rebellious cherry brat. Favoured as you were at the start, we’re starting to see a need to make you walk that plank if you don’t level up soon. 

Funny how we weren’t into EXO at the start but we gradually took a liking to them through this game. And you can clearly tell who’s the favoured child here. It’s not biasness, you know. This is a meritocratic society.

MOVE Taemin

Ha. Taemin. You’re Peace’s second favourite but your hair was so bad at the start we had to choose the mismatched MOVE theme because you, at the very least, looked pretty good in them. 

Well, at least till Day and Night came. That theme is the shit and everything before it paled in comparison but still, we’re not about to change the theme for that reason. We are way above the superficial things of this world.

Or so we say. Let’s see how long our mantra can last.

Deja-Boo Jonghyun

Favourite team = SHINee = all SHINee with solos automatically become part of the SMTOWN fighters. Jjong is my ultimate SHINee favourite so yeah, just put two and two together. You’ll get it.

SUPERSTAR STARSHIP Fighters #1

Monsta X 

1/2 of the reason why we downloaded Starship. Monsta X was promising and exciting till we found out the range of original songs were pathetic. No Exit? Absent. Trespass? Non-existent. Love for them? Don’t worry, it’s still there. 

Alligator Shownu

As much as Shownu is Peace’s favourite, seriously, this cherry is as plain as his character. There was absolutely nothing about this card, no tea, no achievements, no nothing. But I guess stability is good too. Gotta count our blessings, at least he isn’t a Sungjin. 

Alligator Minhyuk

How do we phrase this without offending half the world? Let’s just say our fate with Minhyuk was so bad, we couldn’t get an S card for the longest time till... Starship removed someone (an S card) and offered us a one-for-one trade. Guess you could say: “neither can live; while the other survives” - Harry Potter.

Alligator Kihyun

If our Aron card debuted in Starship, he would be called Kihyun. This cherry shot straight to an R, bypassing all the other grades and then came to a halt as fast as he shot to an R. For that, we are not pleased. One more time, Kihyun, and you’re going to the naughty corner. 

Alligator Hyungwon

Hello everyone. This is Peace and Patience. We formally apologize to Hyungwon of Monsta X for judging him in the initial stages of getting to know Monsta X. We deeply regret our actions and we confess that Hyungwon is now one of our favourites in Monsta X. The cherry was so cooperative but we did not treasure it. Yes, we are really so sorry. 

Alligator Jooheon

Hello! I’m an alli alligator! OK, so where is our Alligator S card then? We got a ton of other themed S cards and that was it. No Alligator S cards. Then we got an Alligator A card. And then we got no other A cards to upgrade it. WOW! If we could downgrade a Jooheon S card by force to 2 obtain A cards, we would. That was how desperate we were. 

Alligator I.M

Patience’s soon-to-be bias is the cooperative cherry child of Monsta X. Kid had zero failures in the A to R upgrading and is still moving up steadily to take over big bro. But big bro is Peace’s favourite so I guess they’ll just be increasing hand in hand. 

DRAMARAMA - that’s what you are, Monsta X. From the judging scandal to the sudden line up change that (kind of) benefited us, Monsta X has it all. Including that boring side character that all dramas need.

SUPERSTAR PLEDIS Fighters #1

NU’EST

For the first time, our favourite group isn’t the highest. Only because our favourite group by the name of S E V E N T E E N has T H I R T E E N members. Still, NU’EST is a wonderful set of cherries with good songs. 

Different JR

How do we put this without being totally obvious? Patience loves JR. You can draw the link by yourself. JR embodies the spirit of a leader, leading the team and being cooperative with every strategy we employ, be it changing the cards to cater to Ren or intensive levelling up boot camps to save our score. Peace and Patience owes you one!

Different Baekho 

Baekho is your stereotypical punk kid turned successful CEO in your average Korean dramas. Slow at the start, Baekho was the last to turn R among the five but the card quickly shot up to 7, gaining points against the other 3. Life lessons with Baekho: Change is in your hands. 

Different Aron

Aron is the definition of a one-way expressway to stardom. By some mystical algorithm and code, Pledis showers our account with Aron R cards. Not one, not two but six Aron R cards straight away. What is a S/A/B/C Aron card? We have never seen that. Please don’t be mad at us though, keep reading for the Minhyun sob story. 

Different Minhyun

If there was anything to learn from Minhyun, it’s NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FREE. If Aron was your one hit wonder, Minhyun is the kid who worked his butt off for 10 years before reaching where Aron is now. Patience lost all patience dealing with Minhyun’s persistent C cards that this cherry was forcefully levelled up from C to R in two days. 

Different Ren

Ren Ren Ren. The visual of your cards bewildered us so much to the point we googled to see if you had better photos. We had to 忍 (rěn - tolerate in Chinese) your bad hair styles and hideous cards so much but that is not your fault. Why would anyone style you this way? Different is really your one and only saving grace. You could say we equipped this theme for you. 

NU’EST is such an inspirational team indeed. So many lessons to be learnt such as how favour brings your far, change is in your hands and nothing in this world is ever free. Thanks Minhyun for that reality check. Let’s work hard! Especially you, Ren.

SUPERSTAR JYP Fighters #3

Miss A

We only like Only You, we will only keep Only You and there’s only 3 members why not? This is only 1/3 of the cards to level up as opposed to Twice. Think about it properly. よく考える!! 

Fei, Min and Suzy

Fei is surprisingly the most cooperative card here. Min and Suzy enjoy taking turns to have intense mood swings, but other than that, it’s all good. Unfortunately, Patience adopted a new strategy to upgrade Miss A together so there isn’t much difference in the card levels or anything else to say. All for one and one for all, I guess?
