And the actors are similar to their characters but they're also different people y'all. And they're all anonymous "to not break immersion" so while Dandicus is rocking America, Andreyus is just Some Guy.

He's gonna get the Ink and Sell It. To who? Whoever! So he goes into Gardenview but maaan it's taking a while he NEEDS MONEY. He needs help. How does he get help?
He organizes a reunion dinner, lures everyone into Gardenview and locks them inside! It's only gonna take a little bit to sell all this ink! What a sound decision! (Stop commiting crimes, man, can't you just take out a loan?) oh and Dale Tomslowe is there. i actually have no idea what to do with him right now since i also have no idea what to do with Dyle in my regular fanon. uhm. DWBtIC is full of plot holes actually.
Anyways, everything is going swell! Although Polly-Ann "Bo" Wan is seems really out of it and now she's starting to forget things and act weird and Ooooooooooopsieeeeeee!!!!!!!! Twisteds. Uh. Oh no.
Except, here's the catch: in this AU, the twisteds aren't mindless. Unfortunately, they are still insane and don't remember who they are and are hostile, and contact to bad Ink spreads the infection so when they hit you you're more likely to twist. So now they're smarter, which is A Problem. But things are gonna get even worse, cause.
Peter Salazar. Who played Sprout. He's the team healer and he's not having a good time. People are twisting left and right and he seems to be unable to save them every time. He's slowly getting sicker and sicker but it's fine he's alright he can still heal he can still help them he can he has to he
So many people twist. And eventually, his best friend (since childhood!) Oswald Singh, who played Cosmo, gets trapped in a storage closet with a twisted on a run and is attacked and Pete can't save him in time and he is literally forced back to the elevator. And this is the last straw that sends him over the edge. Pete, now clearly twisting, barricades the elevator in an attempt to prevent anyone apart from him from going on runs. Then he goes back down to save Oz. And he knows he's twisting but it's ok he can still protect the others he can will himself into not turning on them it's ok And he finally finds Oz and oh he's twisted now. And twisted Cosmo hits him and runs off cause he's Scared Of Everything (that's his whole thing) and hey Pete's already twisted too he just noticed. Uh.
The next day there's another run and uhhhhhhhh they find Pete guys. But he willed himself into wanting to protect them AND he still remember them and who he is. He's still kinda unhinged though but (this is where Sprout's story diverges from my regular fanon) they let him come back with them so now they have an 8 foot-tall twisted Pete who can create Ink vines on their team and he can protect them yayyyyyy!!!!!!!!!! Which keeps him mostly hinged.
Thennnn eventually Robert Mallory (guy who played Rodger L. Ementory) and Pete go on a run and they don't buy from Andy. You know where this is going. Andy HULKS THE FRICK OUT NOW HE'S BIG AND STRONG AND BUFF and he SMACKS Robert now he's twisted, aw shucks. And Pete sees the whole thing and now he's Andy's NUMBER ONE HATER and he's probably gonna punch the daylight outta him and then tell everyone so Andy gets in the elevator before him and gets to the lobby and LIES and says Pete betrayed them and then Pete comes late cause he had to take the gross slimy stairs and he's built like a closet so it took a while and now he's back and everyone turns on him and he gets mega-fricking exiled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To the lower floorssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which drives him (even more) nuts sooooo. He organizes the twisteds, becomes their leader and declares WAR on the actors. And now he's called Great Dr. Sprout Seedly instead of Pete Salazar.
This is also a war AU.
So now there's a War. The twisteds are actively sabotaging the Ink Operation and uhhhm. And More and More people twist, and all the mains twist and the ALSO retain their memories and they're ALSO the twisteds' leaders! Oligarchy.
And, eventually, everyone gets twisted (i think i have no idea what dandy dyle and boxten's roles will be yet, as in dunno if they'll actually figure in the main story cause this au is a loose adaptation of my post-game au A Scent of Acetone, who's details also aren't all figured out), and Dandy goes into a Big Ol coma at the bottom of Gardenview (guarded by his doggy :( poor pebal :(((((( ) and now 7 unstable mutants are in charge of a makeshift underground society of also unstable mutants who fight all the time. Nothing can go wrong.
War Two
They all declare war on each other for various extremely petty and stupid reasons and form their own factions and have their own territory, each one centered around that main's themed floor. And they're constantly invading each other's territories trying to claim them, they just keep doing this for years.
And at some point between the wars or in the early days of the second war, Cosmo and Dr. Sprout became good friends (again but Cosmo doesn't remember that.) They became inseperable, they'd even cook together. Sprout helped him calm down a lot, he really improved his mental health, to the point where.....
He started remembering. That there was something before being twisted. And he starts investigating it. And he starts remembering his friends, his family, his cousin, his wife, his son, his life where he was free and he was happy. He tries to find an escape. Then Sprout finds out. He thinks he's gonna lose his friends so he tries toooo...... emprison him. Recall that Oz twisted from fear while trapped in a storage closet. Bad call, Sprout. So he runs away and now Pete has lost his friend!! And Oz keeps searching andddd eventually he gives up hope and joins Sir Novalite the Tired's faction.
But now, it's been years since the war started (no one's tracked how long, they lost track of time a long time ago), and Poppy has been in Dr. Sprout's faction since the beginning. And she's utterly miserable!!!!! The others on Sprout's floor are mean to her and also Sprout is a crazy dictator who's always watching all the time. And one day Bandit Queen Shelly invades Sprout's floor. AKA a normal day in twisted Gardenview. And Teagan is on her team right? And Teagan LOVES collecting tapes right? And she drops one while fighting. And Poppy finds it. Cue the image and caption.
Poppy needs to find that place. She needs to find out what that is. She needs to find out. She has a drive now.
And Poppy starts investigating. Then Sprout finds out. Panics andddddd actually i dont know but Poppy Escapes his floor and goes a journey!!!!!!!!!!!............ Of the which details I am also unsure of. Again, filled with plot holes. But the gist of it is that she travels between the territories finding clues about za past and relearning what it means to be a person cause thats the story theme and whatever and all the mains begin hunting her down! (Sprout either wants to not lose her or he's made her an enemy for whatever reason maybe she hurt another faction member by accident or maybe Sprout just doesn't want her telling everyone or smth)
And ok spoilert but not really she succeeds everyone is free yayyyyy!!!!!!! but like theyre still fricking twisteds. guh. So like now they're in the custody of the government and they held in a lab for some time (not an evil torture lab situation but still less than optimal) and eventually they're all let go once they're all reasonably able to CONTROL THEMSELVES and they get free normal people disguise and a bogus cover story about getting kidnapped and mutilated by the mafia and then hiding in another state or whatever. And then yeah that's the epilogue part they gotta sort their crap out man.

should also mention that since Time Exists Gourdy and Toodles are in the late 20s by the time the actual story starts. and everyone else except eggson is in their 40s. middle aged twisteds.
