This might be stupid but hear me out. The au episode is a universe where god did not interfere in the deckerstar relationship right? The thing that changed there was chloe’s father, he didn’t die so she became an actress blah blah blah. God even says the thing that changed was that he moved the bullet a little bit. So does that mean that god’s interference in lucifer’s life was just when he would meet chloe? If so could that mean that chloe being a miracle if for smth else?
Nonnie, if I could make sense of the au episode I would.
Here’s my theory. The AU universe is the universe in which God DID interfere. Mostly because the AU episode sets God up as a father who just wants the best for Lucifer. Believing that he allowed or manipulated events to save Chloe’s father jives with that characterization better. (Personally, not a fan of the idea that God intentionally let Chloe’s dad die just so she could meet Lucifer.)
To me, the AU is God’s what if. What if Chloe wasn’t a Detective? What if they hadn’t met? Would they still find each other despite events changing? Would they still fall in love?
Which also works with my theory that Lucifer was given/always had free will and all his actions in the original universe are his own, free of his father’s interference.
Does that mean Chloe being a miracle is for a different purpose? One that has nothing to do with Lucifer? I don’t know. What I do know is that, by being immune to his supernatural charms, all of Chloe’s interactions with Lucifer are honest and free of his influence. It’s real. And that’s something that transcends universes.
