You probably don't care for the ship (that's totally okay), but I am curious to ask anyway. What would be your opinion on the ship Minuette x Twilight? Since Twilight is sort of in Sunset's position in this au, would Minuette and Twilight have a sunlight dynamic? Just thought I might inquire.

I can definitely see it, and I wouldn’t mind seeing content of my Minuette x Twilight in a Sunlight way in fact I love me some fan ships please do. I can’t say whether or not I’d do that ship canonically - (esp. since with the exception of Ditzy/Blueblood cause they already have a kid together and I’m doing a story for them I wanna keep the ships a very fan led experience - hell you can even ship Ditzy too if you want as long as you’re aware that in story she’s going to be involved with Blueblood so any ship you do would be a poly ship on her side) but considering what this AU is I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say they’ll have somewhat of a Sunlight dynamic even if things play out differently.

It especially comes into play when you realize that in this AU the band of unicorns were all childhood friends (even if Twilight wasn’t much of a good friend or even a friend Minuette was at least very fond of her when she was around) and while Twilight was always too into her studies and Minuette ended up being similarly caught up in her own studies by adulthood Minuette was always friendly to Twilight when their paths crossed and Spike and Cinders are quite friendly as well.

So while Twilight suddenly sees her as the villain and probably even forgot they knew each other as young fillies, Minuette thinks quite highly of Twilight and if you wanted to, you could totally assume she has had a small crush on her. She was probably honored to be considered by Celestia to be worthy of being a faithful student because she knows how talented and smart Twilight is.

Which makes the inevitable confrontation to come even more of a tragic test of Minuette’s development because she wouldn’t have seen this coming.

Also what’s a good name for them as a pair anyway?

alright here’s for the two people who voted

Scott and Ramona are both intersex, trans and bi. Mainly because I think the original versions of them are bi and trans, the intersex part justifies why they are able to transition in the 80s (i know, nonconsensual surgeries were and are still a problem but that’s for another day). And also because of the writing potential of a trans JD

Ramona has 46, XX ovotesticular syndrome, she’s still fertile so she takes birth control (to match up with Dead Girl Walking’s lyrics). AMAB until reassigned to female at age 4, which was why her family moved to Sherwood to fit in better.

Scott has grade 4 PAIS. AFAB until diagnosed with it and reassigned to male at age 13. The gender dysphoria up until that point is one of many reasons he’s so mentally unstable today. Has been taking testosterone for 1 year.

He chose the name Scott based on his childhood nickname ‘Scout’, and yes that’s a reference to the tomboy character from To Kill A Mockingbird. ‘Ramona’ is just what her parents wanted to name their daughter, so nothing too exciting about the name backstory there.

Stacey and Lawrence are in this AU (and still Scott’s younger siblings), and so is Wallace. Wallace doesn’t have an equivalent role to anybody in the musical, he’s just there bc I wanted him to be and he’s still gay.

Wallace is wasian/Eurasian, mainly bc I headcanon him as a very white passing Asian guy at least.

Kim is cast as McNamara but is still musically inclined; she shares Geography and band class with Scott. She still plays drums and also likes to attend underground music concerts when she’s not hanging out with the other Envies.

oh and yeah the clique is called the Envies. It’s a bit silly lol. We’re just going to call Envy ‘Natalie’ in this AU.

Knives’ real name is Niamh. I decided this because O’Malley did mention that he named her that way based on the name Neve, which itself is a variant of Niamh.

scott’s dad is named Bud, and his construction company is Bud Pilgrim Construction. You can guess which character he’s cast as. Alongside his three kids, he lives with the company’s co-founder’s “widow” (they never legally married, it’s a long story) Marie, and her son (Wallace, ofc). Yeah the living arrangement is really weird but Marie has nowhere else to go really.

like with Mrs. Pilgrim’s death, Mr. Wells’ death is also a su*cide, and happened a few years before the events of this AU.

Scott acts like musical JD (I.e. more emotional); kind of like the typical Michael cera awkward teen that the movie slightly leaned towards, and then after Envy dies he goes full yandere lol
