AU Roulette Progress, Week 1:
AU #1: 0 words
AU #2: 1,038 words
AU #3: 714 words
Unfortunately, this is significantly fewer words than I had this time each of the last two years, but in my defense, it's been migraine city all up in here all week 🫠
Today's to do list:
Work on AU #1. Haven't touched it yet today.
Work on AU #3. I have so far written over 500 words, including filling in that last MadLibs hole. I could probably finish it today as long as it doesn't keep growing.
Split AU #3 into chapters.
Prepare shirts for tie dying. Started this last night. I'm doing Mickey Mouse shirts again, which requires more preparation than most designs. It kinda makes me want to try out a Donald Duck design, but that might just be too detailed to do in tie dye. I have enough shirts that I might try it anyway, though.
Dye the shirts. The Mickey Mouse shirts need to be done for the Fourth of July, and between work and the amount of time the dying takes, I need to get a move on.
WIP Wednesday!
I'm thinking of changing the title of this fic (this is one of the many reasons I prefer to post completed fics rather than WIPs). I'm not really hitting the themes I'd originally envisioned when I chose Tin Man as the title, and besides, I'm pretty sure LeBeau wouldn't have had the opportunity to have seen the film before winding up at Stalag 13 (I guess he could have read the book, but I'm much more familiar with the film version, having seen it approximately 43,598,235 times (give or take) and having only read the book once, so I don't really have much to go on there). And besides, if I were to cast these characters in the Wizard of Oz, I'd probably make Newkirk the Tin Man and LeBeau the Cowardly Lion or possibly even Toto (in case anyone is wondering, Carter would definitely be the Scarecrow...and that's about as far as I've gotten). So a title change may be coming in the near future.
Anyway, I'm already about halfway done with the last chapter, word-count-wise (the goal is 3k or more), though plot-wise, I'm not really sure. I've got at least two plot points to hit on, and then I guess it'll be time to figure out how to wrap things up. Which is the main point of one of those two plot points, but I still have to iron out the details.
Happy WIP Wednesday!
I'm currently at over 4.5k words for this chapter! The ending is just beginning to take shape, though I'm still not 100% on what it's gonna look like.
Happy WIP Wednesday!
I said last week that I didn't think I would be able to post the next chapter of Tin Man until next Thursday, but! the chapter is nearly finished! I just have to do some editing + rewatch an episode of the show so that I can reference it properly to end the chapter. Thing is, I've got plans later today into tomorrow, so I can't entirely promise that I'll get it posted on time, but if I don't get it up tomorrow, then it'll be up on Friday.
WIP Wednesday Thursday! Because sometimes I forget what day of the week it is!
WIP Wednesday!
I've all but finished the first draft of this chapter, but it still needs a fair amount of editing. I wound up splitting the chapter into two due to how long it was getting, which means I'm nearly 700 words ahead on chapter 8 \o/ I might hold off on posting chapter 7 until I've finished chapter 8 just so I can have the freedom to continue editing chapter 7 based on what winds up happening in chapter 8. We'll see.
