AU: Best Friend's Brother

Traumática. Así se podía describir su improvisado escape Nueva Orleans. Se sentía un tanto culpable, por haberse ido tan de pronto y sin aviso previo, sólo sus compañeras de apartamento estaban al tanto de sus andares, pero era algo que tenía que hacer. Había encontrado la Academia Madame Robichaux para Jóvenes Brujas, y pensó que era la mejor oportunidad para poder manejar sus poderes de la mejor manera. Y la academia no era mala, era la horripilante historia detrás de ella que la hizo correr tan rápido como pudo. Al parecer, la generación que le precedía había sido víctima de múltiples homicidios, y la mayoría entre ellas mismas, todo por llegar a ser la Suprema. Así que cuando le evaluaron y le dijeron que tenía potencial para serlo, cuando vio las miradas de las demás chicas, no dudó ni un segundo en devolverse a Nueva York.

Eran casi que treinta horas en tren para llegar a su destino, así que tenía un larguísimo viaje por delante. De camino sólo podía pensar en una sola persona: Félix, el hermano de su mejor amiga. Por alguna razón se sentía especialmente culpable por no haberle dicho nada, razón por la cual le llamó y le dejó un mensaje de voz, explicándole toda la situación de la mejor manera posible. Después de todo, él debía saber la verdad: Lyra era una bruja y no había absolutamente nada que pudiese hacer al respecto, tenía que tomarla así como era o dejarla. Por el resto del camino se entretuvo leyendo un libro de hechizos e historia, bastante interesante. Se resistió a ponerse a cantar en el tren, y en vez de eso tomó una muy merecida siesta. Cuando finalmente llegó a la estación del tren, fue a recuperar su pequeña maleta, antes de ver si alguien había ido a buscarla. Revisó los mensajes en su celular y vio el de su sobrina, Liz, diciéndole que “Tienes dos piernas que funcionan a la perfección, puedes caminar hasta el apartamento, ¿No?” Suspiró, ella siempre tan considerada. Por otro lado estaba Claire, pero la pobre estaba bastante ocupada en la universidad. Se resignó y tomó rumbo hacia su hogar, pero antes de poder seguir, creyó escuchar. Alguien llamar su nombre.

Era una tarde libre de Félix, pues de milagro no tenía que presentar exámenes al día siguiente y esa era razón suficiente para celebrar. Lyra le había dicho que llegara a su apartamento, pues justamente esa tarde no tenía que ir a trabajar, y cuando llegó, la joven bruja estaba un tanto ocupada preparando unos pastelitos. Todo transcurrió normal: Félix le ayudo a hacer la mezcla, calentar el horno y ponerlos en el molde. Después de cerrar la puerta del horno, la ojiverde se volteó para hablarle al muchacho. Lo que la recibió fue más bien un puñado de harina colisionando con su rostro, haciéndola jadear por un momento antes de reír. Se suponía que el era mayor que ella, y aún así fue el que decidió empezar la pelea de comida con los ingredientes que sobraron. Hombres. Agarró un puño de azúcar con una mano y de harina con la otra, y no dudó en lanzárselos. Siguieron con la guerra, entre risas y ataques, hasta que terminaron completamente llenos de lo que habían usado para hacer los dichosos cupcakes, incluyendo huevos. Lyra no podía parar de reír, —Está bien, creo que es momento de que hagamos una tregua —Propuso, recuperando su aliento. —¿Paz? —Le ofreció su mano, y al sentir el apretón indicando que estaba de acuerdo, se paró de puntillas para poder besarle. Rodeó su cuello con ambos brazos y en el momento menos esperado, rompió un huevo en su cabeza. —¡Te lo tenías merecido! —Exclamó, riendo aún más fuerte.

He can cook breakfast foods, that's it. But he likes to wine n dine his women so they eat out a lot

They don't fight much maybe when they almost get caught by Sabrina and one of them is on the edge about it

they snapchat because he likes looking at her pretty face and it's an excuse to take selfies

nicknames for each other?:

To be honest, he just calls her Ava because Sabrina could be lurking around but in private he calls her babygirl 

who is more likely to pay for dinner?:

Jared, always.

who steals the covers at night?:

Jared tried to steal them once and she stole them right back. 

what would they get each other for gifts?:

He'd get her self help book about sleeping if she was continuing to have issues falling asleep at night, a key to his apartment so they could hang out ~alone~, perfume so he can have excuse to say she smelled good. She gets him beanies and makes him mix cds he plays in his car 

who remembers things?:

She remembers the little things, every moment, Jared remembers the big things.

who cusses more?:

Jared, hands down.

what would they do if the other one was hurt?:

If Sabrina hurt Ava he'd probably yell at her because he can't lay hands, Jared thinks violence is for simpletons unless really needed so he'd fuck anyone up who messed with his Ava mentally, he's low key crazy. Ava would try to make him see the brighter side of things if he got hurt.

who kissed who first?:

Jared kissed her, all the cuddling while watching movies wasn't getting the point across so he had to change tactics. 

who made the first move?:

Jared because when he wants something he goes after it, sister be damned. 

who started the relationship?:

Once he made his attraction known and she returned it, there wasn't some huge talk, they knew where each other stood.

Jared didn't know who or why his grandparents decided he needed a 'companion' and adopted a newborn when he was four years old and then uprooted them from New York to California. From what he could remember from the first four years of his life -- life was good not having to share toys, snacks, not having to help the nanny change the diaper, hearing infant cries in the middle of the night that only spurred on a young Jared's quiet sniffles that went unnoticed. But as he got older he started to get more comfortable in the 'bigger' brother role. Which basically meant driving her around to the mall and to school, getting on her nerves, scaring the boys who came over -- he liked getting on her nerves the most though, it was fun. 

Staring at the textbook in front of him, Jared was positive his eyes were going cross and he pulled his glasses off, rubbing them tiredly he closed the book, pausing the music that was playing and pushed himself away from the desk. Girlish laughter filtered its way through his door and he sighed. She must be having yet another sleepover, if his grandparents weren't positive she wouldn't burn down the house if she lived alone, he would be back at his own apartment, but it was their own fault they got a baby when they were pushing sixty -- and now had to deal with a teenager while pushing eighty. 

Socked feet padded their way down the steps and into the kitchen, all the noise from before taking a stand still as he rested against the door frame before fully walking in, "So now you decide to be quiet when I show up, would have been nice when I was studying earlier." The remark was more directed towards his sister. Walking over to the island where the two girls sat, he saw the assortment of foods and popped a chip into his mouth, ignoring the annoyed whines of his sister to 'leave them alone' and smiled at her friend Ava. "How much did she pay you to come over here to hang out with her?" he asked teasingly.
