The sunlight from your window woke Zanka up softly. Just the light reminding him that he has a new day ahead him.

And a little reminder on his chest telling him to stay in bed. You were clinging onto him like you do every night, your arms trapping him down and your legs keeping him pinned. Honestly? He could not be happier.
After all the teasing and bullshit he went through from the other cleaners until he confessed.
“You done acting like a pussy?”
“come on just tell her about your feew feews!”
“You are getting embarrassing man holy shit”
But now after he manned up he gets to wake up with you every morning and so to start the morning routine you two have made of Zanka lightly shaking you and kissing your face to make you open your eyes.
“Wake up babe.. it’s morning”
“Nngghhhh..”
“Yeah I don’t wanna get up either but we have breakfast and a mission to get to”
He sits up in bed making you slide down from his chest onto the pillow next to him.
“Good morning” He smiles at your tired face and messed up bed head.

09:12 AM- location dining hall
You walk into the hall— hand in hand— to see some cleaners eating. Right now it was only Riyo, Enjin and Tamsy eating so the others were most likely already gone or haven’t woken up yet.
”Morning love birds!” Enjin says as he wiggles his eyebrows. He thinks it’s absolutely adorable and hilarious that prissy little proper Zanka finally caved and started sleeping in his girls bed.
“..Morning guys”
“Good morning bird brain!”
“HA!”
You and your partner went off and loaded a plate each before you sat down with the three others, interrupting the conversation Tamsy and Riyo had about long hair care to talk about the mission for today.
“Alright listen up now, you guys got a lot today and I can’t come with you so Tamsy is gonna go in my place”
“What do you mean with ‘a lot’ exactly?”
“Apparently outside of junk city they have seen like a ‘gazillion big trash beasts!’”
“How many calls have we gotten in?”
“I don’t know- like in the 20s?”
“Aaah damn”
“Everything will be just fine~ nothing we can’t handle~” Tamsy says calmly as he continues to eat his breakfast.
“Right! We’ll leave right after breakfast and fix that mess before noon, ey?”
“Yup!”
The rest of the breakfast between you all was completely normal. Riyo talking loudly, Enjin talking louder, Tamsy listening, Zanka getting teased, you making fun of Enjin— the complete ecosystem of interaction!
“It’s so cute seeing you hide you guys hands holding under the table, hehe! Come on Zanks!”
Zanka immediately starts getting embarrassed even though he doesn’t let go of you.
“Yeah, Show your love to the people Zan-KA!”
“Oh my GOD SHUT UP RIYO!” Zanka yells out making both the adults at the table laugh.
“Why are you two laughing? I don’t see any girlfriends next to you??” You say looking at the two blond guys— who don’t have a respond for you.
“Okey fiinnneee”
“I got girls linin’ up for the Enjin experience okey!”

10:46 AM — fuck ass nowhere outside of junk city
You all stepped out of the car, you, Tamsy, Zanka, Riyo, Gris, Follo and Tomme. In front of you there was like 20 trash beasts, all ginormous.
“What the hell are so many trash beasts doing outside of no man’s land??”
“Something could have lead them out here?” Tomme says behind everyone.
“Yeah but what could get them this far?
“Either way we don’t have time to think about that, let’s get to cleaning”
Then the fighting started and even though there were so many trash beasts together since there were so many of you it didn’t take that long until you managed to get through all of them without major harm. Tamsy would trap them while you, Zanka and Riyo would slash through them.
When everything was over the whole team sat together by the car looking over at the trash piles that built up from the dead beasts.
“I still don’t get it, why would so many of them just chill out here?” Zanka says sporting a frown on his face. “It just doesn’t make sense”
“Hey” You put your hand on his shoulder. “We will make the report to Semiu and make sure boss knows about it too. He should at least have a hint on why this is going on”
“Yeah, Y/N is right no use for us to grumble about it!”
“Whatever-“ Then his bracelet rings and he taps to answer it.
“What’s up?”
“Heya Zanka how do you feel about getting a student?

12:17 PM - In junk city
When Zanka got the call from Enjin we found out that he apparently found a giver sphererite! And he was gonna become a cleaner. So as the rest of the team took the car back to HQ, Me, Zanka and Riyo went to the city where we first found Enjin’s car.
“Guys imma just chill out here until you all are done”
“Go ahead, we are going out to find this kid”
“Bye Riri!”
“Bye Y/N!”
You hold onto Zankas arm as you walk into the city together. Junk city isn’t the best place but there is definitely worse, it’s cramped and the houses are super close together with like a billion tiny alleys to get lost in.
“What do you think the Sphererite will be like?”
“Probably some stuck up brat if anything Enjin told us is to go off of”
“Hey now you don’t know that!” You lightly bump into him.
“If he is a giver he could be someone worth listening to, hear him out for a bit, might be worth it”
“I don’t know Y/N, a sphererite is still a sphererite.”
“But try at least, he might surprise you! Promise me you won’t immediately be rude to him”

“Great!” You kiss his cheek and let go of his arm making him instantly reach out after you.
“I’m gonna go and buy some snacks for later tonight! I haven’t had the chips from here in so long”
Zanka lets his arm fall next to him after you told him why you were letting go.
“Alright.. see you later” He pecks your lips before continuing down the street.
“Bye bye!”

12:56 PM - on a random street off to the entrance of the city
After you had gotten your bag filled with the the salty and spicy snacks you two loved, you walked toward the entrance of the city so you could catch the others on their way out. But then you got a call on you collar.
“Hello?”
“Baby answer me honestly”
“Okey?” You answer back confused.
“Would you still kiss me if I had shit on my face?”
“…”
“Y/N Answer.”
“Weeeelllll-“
“ARGHH fuck!”
“I love you! Just not that much..” you nervously giggle to yourself.

Then the call breaks, leaving you with no explanation really on what the fuck that question was about and what Enjin could have possibly said about relationships that made Zanka ask that.
In the distance you could see a car pull up, Enjin’s car, that stopped right next to you so you could climb into the passenger seat in the front.
“Now” You turn around to Zanka in the back seat with his face in his hands. “What the fuck was that about?”

13:10 PM - Enjin’s car in the desert
“OH MY GOD THERE IS ACTUALLY NO WAY!”
“YES WAY! HAHAAAHAHA!!-“
“HAHAHAHHAAAH BABE IM SORRY YOU ARE NOT GETTING ANY KISS FROM ME BEFORE YOU SHOWER”

That just makes Enjin lose it even more “FIRST HE THROWS SHIT AT HIM AND NOW HE IS TAKING HIS GIRLFRIEND AWAY, RUDO DAMN!”
After a good like 15 minutes you and Enjin finall manage to calm down with the occasional giggle between you two if you look at each other a lil too long (but honestly keep your eyes on the fucking road enjin).
“So you are Rudo, huh?”
“Uh yeah that me.”
“Welcome to the weirdest side of the ground my guy”
“Okey jokes aside you are gonna have to get a little training in with your vital instrument, you don’t really know how it works yet but lucky for you— we have Zanka! He is the best out there when it comes to controlling his jinki!”
“Yeah! Trust me there is no hands you are safer in then his”
Both of you in the front of the car can’t see how your comments immediately lifted the spirit of the blond guy that was covered in diarrhea 30 minutes ago.

08:47 PM - Dining hall
You had been sent out on a solo mission for the rest of the day getting rid of some minor trash beasts but as you got back to HQ again you saw the party going on.
People drinking, eating and painting on the walls.
“Sup Gob”
“Heya lil lady!”
You went to grab a plate and stacked that bitch since you didn’t have time for lunch today. As you were looking for a table you found Rudo sitting by himself.
“Hey Rudo” His head lifts up from the table to see you sitting down infront of him.
“Hi..”
“Heard you went on a mission today with Riyo.”
“..mhmm”
“I’m assuming it didn’t go as well as you hopped.” You shove a pizza slice in your face. “Wanna tell me ‘bout it?”
He looks at you and studies your face for a bit, fair enough he had only met you briefly before you were sent off immediately again by Semiu. So you guys hadn’t talked that much.
“I didn’t do anything. I tried and I almost got my jinki working! But then it just like fell apart and it didn’t work at all.”
“Well I just see that as you have things to learn” you pulled up your vital instrument and held it infront of him.
“See this? This is my Jinki, love ‘em so much I can’t go a day without’. Now I can handle it no problem, boss says I’m one best he has but there was a time when I couldn’t even activate it when I wanted”
“Really?”
“Absolutely-“ you put the vital instrument away. “It takes time to master it but just like I had someone you will too”
“Who taught you?”
Gris shows up from behind you and sits next to Rudo
“Zanka did”
“Hmm..”
“And we don’t doubt for a second you could get as strong as Y/N here!”
“Awe Gris STAAAWP!”
You continue eating until you finished up your plate. Gris and Rudo seemingly continuing the sweet moment together before Riyo pulls up.
“Hey Rudo why aren’t you stuffing your face? No one is saving you a plate you know”
“Come on bud go and eat while you can”
Both Gris and Rudo stand up to go and gather up the food that left for him to scarf down. After they left the table, Zanka walks in the open door to the hall.
“What’s going on in here?”
“A welcome party for Rudo!”

“Welcome party- is this just an excuse to get drunk again?”
“Eeh lighten up Zanks Let the people party!”
“Yeah no I’m going to sleep”
Then he walks up to you and leans over your shoulder.
“You coming or what?”
“Did you shower?” You turn around teasingly but getting surprised to see him with wet hair dripping onto the towel on his shoulders.
“..Alright then” You take his hand in yours and let him lead you out of the loud drunken party.
“Use protection!”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP RIYO!”

10:03 PM - In your bedroom
“And then the lil bitch picks up the plunger and I can SEE it been used-“

Zanka was laying on your stomach in between your legs facing you while stuffing his face with the snacks you bought for you two earlier.
“No no it actually struck fear in me- I now know what genuine fear feels like”
“I could only imagine”
“But the worst part was Enjin started laughing at me! I probably looked like an idiot!”
Then you two got a second of silence as you ate a potato chip.
“You aren’t gonna defend me.??”
“I love you enough not to lie”
“Actually fuck you”
He lays his head to the side on your stomach now looking away.
“But I promise it’s not that bad, Enjin respects you he has seen you in worse-“
“Don’t, I’m serious y/n, don’t”
“He has seen you in worse shit before”
As you started laughing at you own joke— Zanka pushed himself off you. Starring at you from above- standing on his knees.
“Like you are not funny”
“Yes I am!”
“Why am I here though?”
You sit up and pull him down onto you again while covering both of you with the blanket.
“Because you love me so so so SO much!
“I’m starting to question it.”
“No you’re not”
“..No I’m not”
You lift his face to look him in the eyes before kissing him slowly.
“Love you Zanka”

After a long mission you were tired, you just wanted one moment by yourself self ,but that was going to be hard in a place like this.
You’re walking to the front of the cleaners base. You see Enjin standing next to Semui probably yapping about how he lost another hot chic.
(Stupid Enjin)
And you didn’t want to hear about it. You see Semui’s gaze fall on you she knows everything. Then Enjin turns his head to see what she is staring at.
You quickly move behind a building and wait about five minuets praying Semui doesn’t say anything to Enjin about seeing you.
As soon as you think you are back to the safe zone you run to the back of the headquarters. Seeing the door to the common room thinking you finally have achance to catch a break.
Though that thought really didn’t last long as a certain red head jumped down from her window upon your arrival.
“ Whatcha doing?”
“ Oh- uhh Riyo how are you doing ?”
“ Fine what are you doing out back ?”
Oh no she caught you! You need to make up an excuse quick !like right now!
“ I was just taking out the trash- But uh- ah-! forgot the trash yeah I forgot the trash inside I was just checking the weather! let me go grab it !”
With that you go running into the headquarters.
Lucky you. The room you run into is the common room which today is the food room and it smells ? It smells like
Cookies? Who cooked cookies ?
Then it clickes
Rudo- the food obsessed new cleaner guy. You ran into another dead end!
“ Oh I cooked cookies do you want some? I also have some question about the cleaners too, mind if I ask ?” Rudo looked down while asking. How cute a shy guy.
Snapping back to reality you respond with “ OH Rudo! What was that-“
All of a sudden you feel a tug on your shirt and you see sweet little Dear. He probably smelt the cookies and came here to snatch them up before Rudo.
Suddenly you think about how those cookies were made.
Lost in thought about how those cookies were even made and if they were safe to eat. The cleaner avengers suddenly assembles on you.
Riyo probably sensing that something is wrong comes in through the back door .
Hearing the commotion team child pokes there heads up from there drawings.
Enjin walks in the front door also probably smelling the cookies.
And you can hear August before you can see him.
With of the people suddenly drawn to you. You need to escape so you bust out how you lost your jinki and ran off
“ Where’s my jinki?!—“ you yell it out making commotion but the thing is your jinki are on your feet. They are your roller blades . You run out before anyone could notice and understand what was going on.
The only door that was not blocked by one of the cleaners was the door to the training room.
Guess who’d you find there ?
There you find a sweaty Zanka training with his lovey staff. He turns around sensing you and then he sees you. He hides his head to stop the blushing on his face. Because He has to keep up the facade of non chalant .
“Oh I was just practicing I made a new move wanna see-?“
He can feel the wind of you skating pass him before he can even understand what just happened.
Desperately trying to go to your room skating through the base you bumb into Follo who was lost in thought looking at his hammer .
Both of you guys fall flat on your butt you could say you guys were butt hurt haha 🤣 ha ha.
Anyways
“Follow are you okay?! I did not mean to do that!” You explain basically shrieking it out.
“ yeah I’m okay”
“ that’s great to hear you didn’t get hurt ! I used my jinki with out thinking ! “
You help him up and grab his hammer . As soon as he is on his feet you just start running to your room.
Poor Follo there is just standing still ( he scratches his butt because it hurts )

You finally make back to your room take your shoes off change your clothes and pass out on your bed .
The next morning you wake up and everyone is staring at you …

Imagine zanka with a influential rich reader, like someone from Kamuatari District, perhaps from a alliance between the Nijiku Family & Reader's Family, and reader is just as strict and firm as zanka's sister, which causes a lot of conflicts between them, because zanka gets reminded of his not-so-great past meanwhile reader is just looking out for him with manipulative ways.
But still, reader spoils him even after rough discussions, making zanka feel the need to stay close to reader if he desires to have his necessities properly attended (like hunger).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
Zanka is a nice guy but he is also and asshole. I think he would treat his partner as kindly and at his most gentle capacity possible.
He has never really been “taken care of” by someone he cared so much about before, like Riyo and Enjin found him and Enjin was his idol but you were so much more than that.
He got giddy thinking about you and you had this way of twisting things he saw as bad into something he could be proud of.
Like how you were all in the car back from a mission, it was Gris driving, you in the passenger seat with Zanka, tomme and follo in the back. Usually you two would sit together but the three latter were a lot more tired than you and Gris so you two chatted in the front.
When Zanka was nodding of against the car window ready to pass out he hears you say something that stuck with him.
“I don’t get the shame with scars and that like I have so many from fights and missions and I am PROUD! Besides everyone with scars are hotter”
“It’s like a power thing, like I almost died and I’m still here” Gris adds onto it with his own enthusiasm.
“You get me dude!”
And after that Zanka didn’t feel as much shame when he had to go to the infirmary. He loved you and the way you see things so if you believe that scars are positive then they have to be! So now if he ever got a scar after a mission he is being a lil freaky with it.

We all know he loves being praised and complimented due to his low view on himself but you actively always choosing to be next to him feels like a win every time, WHO CARES IF YOU ARE HIS PARTNER YOU LOVE HIM SO SO MUCH HE COULD CRY! (You sat next to him)
Now here comes a full three times Zanka realizes he won in life!
1. He was in the dining hall and there were surprisingly a lot of cleaners in there eating their last meal of the night. Enjin, Gris and Bro were all being loud and laughing at the end of a long table while scarfing down their food, Riyo and semiu were chatting as they loaded up their plates and Remlin was spending the night with the other kids so they, Rudo, Guita, dear and Amo were sitting together and screaming like the adults taking care of them.
He was waiting for you to show up, even if you went to talk to the girls or the kids or throw in a comment with the older guys. Zanka wanted to make sure you were eating before he started so if he noticed you forgot to go eat he could go fetch you without stopping his meal time straight away.
Then a plates clatters next to him.
“Hm?” A little kiss makes it onto his cheek making him blush immediately.
“Hey babe, how has today been treating you?”
Okey now you guys celebrated your one year anniversary like 3 weeks ago, statistically and arguably he should not feel giddy you say next to him. AND HE DOES NOT.
But you holding his hand across the table does.
“Rudo ‘s bein’ a pain in my ass-“

You guys were on your way to a mission and it was gonna be a long ass drive. About 2 hours so enjin and Gris agreed, let everyone chill out and sleep the first safer hour but the second Enjin will drive to keep everyone awake.
So as you all make your way to the car Zanka opened the door and jumped in to take the middle seat so you could have window.
“Actually babe can I sit middle?” Which made him question why because you always wanted to look out the window to mission but he jumps out and lets you climb in.
“Sure but I thought you liked looking out the window?”
“Nah I like leaning against the window.” Zanka jumps in after you as you both fastened you seat belts “but I sleep better if I lean on you anyways, the glass hurts after a while”
Then you leaned on his shoulder and he could hear Enjin and Gris snickering at him but like-
He did NOT care.

When there are rainstorms instead of trash storms it was actually peaceful. People could easily get better drinking water and the few places of green could bloom a bit stronger.
And again HE KNOWS HE IS BEING RIDICULOUS BUT LET HIM BE, every time it would rain at night you would run over to his room if you weren’t already there because you claimed “rain cuddles hit different”. So now every time he hears the rain he waits up until you notice, because it like a you want it and he is happy to supply but like- like.. like it’s- you that wants it the most.
Besides it’s one of the quiet reminders that you will seek him out for comfort and gawd DAMN IT he loves to be wanted by you!
But it’s getting kinda late and you haven’t show up yet so either you weren’t in the mood (not possible) or you fell asleep before it started (very possible). So he kinda gave up and fixed his bedding to tuck himself in and fall asleep- a bit disappointed but eh you can’t win em all.
KNOCK KNOCK
Well apparently you can.
Because you come rushing in and dramatically close the door with both your arms fully extended making you lose balance, ending up wiping out and slamming your ass you the ground.
“Pfft- babe what are you doing?”
Before you answer you skaddle up from the floor to his bed and rip open the sheets to dive in this bed and wrap your arms and legs around him.
“Now you listen here, motherfucker and you listen good” You say as you put your forehead right onto his giving you two cyclops vision of each other.
“Okey- pfft-!” Zanka was trying so hard not to laugh as you looked at him with a dead serious expression.
“If we ever get night rain ever again and I almost fall asleep I need you to get my ass here as fast as you can or I am gonna assume you don’t love me- you do love me don’t you??”
“HAHahahha!… ha.. hehe.. More than anything.. <3”
Then you nuzzle in under his chin.
“Good cuz I sure as heck ain’t letting you go!”

Mind you he does all this sweet shit with you but the second he has to deal with Rudo it’s like god pissed him off on purpose just to make him angry.
In conclusion Zanka wins all, fuck all you bitches, you ain’t got nothing on him.
the lights were off, the room silent and your body sore from a rough day of training.
you were doing it again. purposely trying to quiet the part inside you that kept hurting in the only way you know — by forcing your body into constant pain, into constant movement and exhaustion.
you laid silently on the bed with your thoughts running 180 miles an hour. over and over you replayed those memories, thought over those times that have passed and what you wish you could do to those around you when it became too much.
the physical exhaustion kept you in check.
everyone around you tried to diagnose you with some sort of mental disorder, like this was a way to hurt yourself, when in reality you were saving them from your own hands.
the only one who got you was zanka. curled up against your side, his own exhaustion already having put him to sleep. these quiet moments with him was the only thing that made you calm down without forcing your body to keep fighting.
and you know that these nights were the only thing that made zankas own head quiet down for a bit.
despite it all, you two had eachother.
