Planet: Xer Prominent Species: Xeryn

On the planet Xer, there is no language, only telepathic communication. It’s difficult for Xeryns to communicate with those on New America for that reason, but some have managed to teach themselves human languages.

They are mostly humanoid in appearance, with a blue tint to their skin. Strongly in tune with nature, many have traits similar to the fauna on their planet, and can often communicate with those animals.

Demetrius nearly always questioned his decision to become a medic. For a medic to be of any use, it was bare minimum requirement to know the ins and outs of the major species in the Confederation, which was surely almost a nearly impossible feat. But Demetrius was about, say, halfway there to memorizing them all. If only the other half were any easier to memorize -- it was almost as hard as remembering the appropriate drug names and dosages for diseases and injuries. But it was a new year, new semester, new struggles, and oh...so much frustration. Maybe he should have just stayed on Astrolla as a cellist -- at least he wouldn’t have to wear the face mask all the time, and wouldn’t feel so awkward about the severe lack of clothing he wore in comparison to other species in Night City. At least it was getting darker, so Demetrius could finally just pull on a jacket to cover up his pale-green skin that wasn’t covered up by what was essentially a crop top. 

After a long week, Demetrius had decided tonight would be strictly study-free. Tonight, it would just be a night to take away any of the built off stress on the dance floor of a night club, which Demetrius had found to be a fantastic way to not lose his mind. Under the pulsating lights, he could practically feel the strains of the week easing away as his feet stepped and slid to the beat that thrummed through his veins, the rest of his body following suit. Demetrius was aware of how he looked from the remarks of friends or complete strangers he met at these clubs: barely dressed and dancing his cares away with a sinful, almost seductive ease. Flirtation was never the intention -- he danced for himself, and it was one of the few selfish things he did in his life. And despite the way he looked, he was too hesitant to even consider dancing with someone else, even playfully. 

Eventually, once he felt sufficiently destressed and now in need of something to drink, Demetrius quietly slid off in search of the bar. He ordered a Shirley Temple (with the biggest maraschino cherry, please?) and tapped his fingers to the beat of the current song pounding through the club as he flashed a polite smile to the person next to him.

Initially when the City of Lysander had reached this new place, It had been horrified. It was so used to the carefully planned, carefully thought-out, seamless way that It had been taken care of, by Its AI Hives. It missed them. The Media and Internet missed his siblings, missed the noise they created and the other thoughts in his head. 

Or, he had at first. Now all that was left of the once-great City was one Serf, rapidly getting used to the way things were here. All these opportunities to better himself. And he was doing that rather well, if he did say so himself. Lysander Cho - (when the City had first arrived here, without an identity, It had realised that a name was important, and had pored over the Media and Internet sources available here. It had been torn between Cho, Hernandez or Smith) - was making a name for himself.

Now the City of Lysander watched and partook in these terrible bribes and had Its own motivations. It tried to blame Its Serf, this might not have happened if the body had belonged to somebody who had been better in life. But who was It kidding, this was inevitable. Dog eat dog.

Now the City of Lysander was stood on a street corner awaiting a taxi he had called not long before. Maybe he should learn to drive, he reflected absently as he spotted somebody moving towards him in the dark and the drizzle.
