new au?

so i’ve been seeing a bunch of sports au summer stuff and i want in so i’ve created a mumscott taekwondo au. (eight years in taekwondo and three as a black belt—i think—are finally coming in handy) the main premise is that they met on the mat, where mumbo is a lot more confident than he is off the mat. the two of them get paired as “competition partners”(truthfully idk much about competitions cuz i’ve only competed in two so im making shit up at this point) and practice together. mumbo competes in sparring and scott is a poomsae girly(tooottaly not because i, personally, enjoy poomsae more, definitely nottt). and they meet off mat at some point, thru ranchers i think(ie tango is mumbos friend and jimmy is scott’s and so they both get invited to a party or smth) and scott is surprised at how different mumbo is off the mat, and finds that he loves mumbo even when he’s off-mat. when they practice together they’re both freaking out internally bc omgod this person is so cool and confident and so good at a thing that i am not! anyway, those are my thoughts.

and then, well, then she was here. beloved princess of dawn, lead priestess of the cult worship of the sun, unable to see. she could feel the sun on her skin, but she could never see its blinding beautiful light. 

gem didn’t remember much. but she remember pearl. she remembered her smile, the sound of her voice when she laughed, the feel of her arms around gem. 

pearl was the sun to gem. she was everything. gem didn’t remember much. but she remembered pearl. and that was enough.

Cleo!

i have been. busy all day. (currently recovering from a bout of tears but i’m fine now) so! you guys get surprise art from abysss!

this is the beta design of cleo from the fan game of season nine i’ll eventually make! fun fact the pixel art app i use has animations so her hair actually moves like snakes. unfortunately i don’t know how to transfer that to tumblr so you get static cleo. the playstyle of this fan game is gonna be like breath of the wild with the art style of stardew valley. so this is the little sprite you’ll see when she walks around. again, this is a—very old—and very early design so if—when—i make this game it might be different. @hermitadaymay

Please ramble about your plans for the game! I know you have some stuff planned out and the rest of the world deserves to know! :j

so the main premise is that you start with one of the s9 hermits(haven’t decided whether or not whether or not you get to choose)and you play through their storyline, getting closer to other hermits, building bases, and causing chaos. after you complete one persons storyline, you unlock someone else, either randomly or based on who you got closest too. then you can play through their story arc and so on. 

there will be some events you can’t skip based on who you play as. for example the rift and the king arc will all be inevitable if you’re playing someone who was heavily or tangentially involved in that arc. 

empires s2 will also exist since the rift will exist. you can get close enough to the emperors to unlock their storylines and play through them(haven’t figured out what’s gonna happen w sausage yet iykyk)

oh also decked out two will also exist as sort of a dungeon and that’s about all i’ve got for that side of things.

this is a thing that won’t happen for a long while since i have neither the time nor the ability to create a whole ass game rn, but when it does i will be looking for people who are experts on the povs of s9/esmp2 i have not watched(i will need less of this help for esmp1 if that also exists cuz i am Insane and watched every pov of esmp1 for some reason) 

as for the artstyle it will resemble stardew valley(hence why the au’s called hermiton valley) and the playstyle is up in the air as i haven’t figured out much about it yet. so yeah! that’s the ramble on hermiton valley, a thing that will exist at some point!

2, 4 and 5 for the fic writer ask game with 20 questions :DD

2- if you could sit down and finish any completely new fic without anything stopping you, what would you write? ooo i’ve been wanting to write a fwhip/sausage (fuselage) fic for a while! the idea is that sausage works at a coffee bar(totally a real thing don’t look it up) and fwhip is some kinda mechanic (haven’t decided what type yet). so sausage keeps getting put on the night shifts, and is upset cuz making coffee (that special one he makes idr what it’s called) is his fav. then fwhip comes in at a unholy time in the morning(like one am) and orders a coffee and voila they’re in love. there’s a bunch that come after i just haven’t had time to think about it.

4- is there an au or trope that you haven’t written before, but would like to try? i’d love to write a highschool theater kid au but despite being in highschool i know precious little about what actually goes on in highschool(i go to a weird school don’t ask. or do.) and nothing about theater. eventually i might write a college theater au bc that’s a thing i want to do.

5-is there a certain type of fic that feels satisfying to finish? hmm. i really enjoy finishing my more eerie fics (“On the Nature of Isolation, and the Consequences of Loneliness”, “Death Unending”, “Sea-Sadness”, “Devotion”, “A Maze of Unknowns”) bc i have such fun writing them and then exposing the rest of the world to my devious thoughts bc apparently i’m very good at writing less-than-good things happening. so id say those! coincidentally, a bunch of those fics are also written in second person pov which is also super fun to write.

39- do you have a preferred writing snack/drink? not really actually. i write a bunch during school(when i should be doing things but fanfic is more important) and at like midnight so i don’t snack besides maybe gum? i would love to have a little treat like mnms maybe as a writing snack but that’s not really what i do atm.

19- give a hint/teaser about something you’re writing without any context or explanation. see there’s the problem you are the person i talk abt this stuff to, clover! how am i supposed to tease you! smh. ig i’ll try. k. in the thing i’m currently writing, cleo will become a jealous kind-of-ex-girlfriend for a while. not for long, and not toxicily but it happens

oh oof i don’t know if i could even count them all! currently i’m working on hermit a day may so that’s my only active one, but in general i’ve got. um. 4 active-ish ones aka four ones i’m somewhat working on, and a bunch that are in the planning stage still, and a couple that haven’t even left the idea note. so in all that’s. 4 wips, and twenty ideas that are either in the planning stage or haven’t left the idea note. adding it up, that’s 24 total wips! there will. probably be more.

7- What fic are you proudest of? oh it’s gotta be “On the Nature of Isolation, and the Consequences of Loneliness”, an esmp1 scott fic that i wrote in just over a week and totaled to just over 6k. it was super fun to write and i’m really proud of how it turned out!

11- Do you outline your fics before writing them? no, not really. usually i’ll put down something to keep the idea, but that usually follows more of a summary vibe. when i’m actually writing, i’ll only plan a few scenes ahead, which gets me in trouble when i don’t know what i’m doing.

32- Out of all of your fics, what’s your favorite title? oo i can’t choose oneee. i’d say it has to be a tie between “Secrets, and How Not to Keep Them” which is a boatem/pearl focused superhero fic that’s still in progress, “The Divine Right of Kings” which is a medieval third life au that’s also still in progress, and ofc “On the Nature of Isolation, and the Consequences of Loneliness” which just feels so correct for the fic.
