It hardly needs this stamp of approval, Mistress Pierce. You won quite fantastically just before the end. The auction went over better than I anticipated and I do hope that the slave will be worth it, now and in time. Captain’s records will be updated with the new name. As I mentioned before, you’re more than welcome to ask for any medical or restraining assistance that you might require when you mark your new slave. Thank you for your business.

Auction Day has arrived.

In just a few minutes, the bidding for the slave Sam Evans will begin. 

As we have so many new Masters, while you may not be jumping into something like this so soon, we will still be putting the slave out on display in the courtyard from noon until the late evening, if you or any interested party wish to come examine the product. 

It will be naked apart from shackled wrists and the collar and a spreader bar between its ankles. Chains from the wrists and the neck shall be connected to a ring on the platform and give the slave enough leeway to be in a kneeling position. If you wish to see it standing for whatever reason, feel free to ask the guards and they will lower it off the platform so that it has enough slack to be able to do so.

The only rule I will put in place on this is to not mark or damage it. If it is disrespecting you and you feel you must punish it, or even want to see how it takes a punishment, there will be a crop with one of the guards to use. That said, I ask you to be conscious of how it will be needing to serve its new Master the next day. 

Apart from that, please just be time conscious and not spend more than 30 minutes toying with or examining the slave at any given time. All are welcome to stand out in the courtyard for as long as they like and watch the goings on. Just enjoy the amusement and bid if you’d like to bring home a new pet tomorrow.

Notes about the auction!

Hello, all! So this is the OOC companion post for the most recent Curator post here. Just to explain a little more in detail what’s happening with this auction.

First and foremost, I want to let everyone know that this, and any future auctions will have a pre-determined end. OOCly, all players involved in the outcome know and have to have agreed that this is what they want, just like for any regular claim. It is open to the public for voting simply for story and realism purposes, to have fun and drive up the price (perhaps taunt Sam if your Master’s name comes up and you want to let him shake in his figurative boots ;) )

How it will go down is that whenever we get a bid (or as often as we can), we’ll post up something about the current price and the current highest bidder. For bidding, simply put into the Curator’s inbox something like:

bid # million dollars

bid min for minimum ($500,000) 

And either number will be added to the total. So please, don’t say ‘15 million dollars’ unless you’re trying to say, raise it up to 25 million. This way there will be no overlap of numbers and we can just do all the math based on the times the bids come in.

Also, to clarify what the Curator means when he says not needing to meet the normal claiming rules, that also means that if you already have a claim, you can still bid, hoping to win. This is the vehicle in which double claims can happen. This will set the example for any future auctions, so please feel free to bid as many times as you like! We want this to be as fun as possible.

A Special Announcement

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, residence of our lovely Paradise. I’ve decided on some amusement for the weekend. On Saturday, for twenty-four hours, I will be holding a silent auction. This auction has one and only one item. The slave who currently goes by the name Sam Evans.

For some time now, it was a popular slave to rent, and based on the feedback and the total of one (at the time) instances of notified punishment, I had put it’s price at the highest we had had at the time, going along with the slave Minou, formerly Kurt, and the slave Luz, formerly Summer. But considering it has not been purchased in the now three whole months that claiming has been opened, I began to wonder if it’s shine was not quite so bright. At least, not sixteen million dollar bright, especially as interest is waning.

So I will be selling him to the highest bidder, starting at ten million dollars, with increments of no less than $500,000. Any Master and Mistress may participate if they choose, not needing to meet any normal claiming rules.

To bid, simply put the amount into my inbox (either the exact amount you’re bidding or specify the amount you’d like to raise whatever the current bid is). I will not put a cap on how many times you may bid, it shall just be whomever has placed the bid before the auction has closed. I will start the bidding at noon on Saturday the 19th, as I would hate to drag anyone out of bed early, if anyone still bothers or even needs to observe weekends. It will be closed twenty-four hours later, noon on Sunday the 20th.
