Audi works on self-propelled lunar truck
Audi wants to work with a group of German scientists put a self-propelled carriage on the moon. The project is part of the Google Lunar XPrize contest where the objective is to establish a self-propelled vehicle on the moon.
The Part-Time Scientists Team is the only German team that competes in the contest and also worked with include Nvidia, the German ruimtevaartsscentrum and the Technical University of Berlin.
The carmaker believes that his knowledge of lightweight materials and autonomous vehicles will come in handy. The moon rover will also use Audi’s all-wheel drive technology.
Audi is not the only car company that wants space. Nissan for example, is already working with NASA to develop self-propelled space vehicles.
