where do you get sounds for edits?
Freesound.org is my go to! Really handy site but sounds can be hit or miss, for every usable one theres 10 that are really Not but it’s still great. Also, youtube is really good for ones that are really specific but you have to go through the whole ordeal of YouTube to mp3 sites

Gona have to be a little more specific there, anon. Do you mean the episodes themselves? Because for that I just download them, either off the patreon or I just link my itunes account to my laptop and it downloads any episodes I have saved there to my laptop’s files and I can get them in audacity there. Works for any podcast for that. If you mean something else though lemme know! I’m always down to help with audio stuff

Yeah it’s pretty simple it’s just like. Hard to explain words wise? And I’m not sure how much of it you have to have like, a paid itunes account for since I just use my family’s family plan for it. I think if you just have the itunes app downloaded to your computer and open that and download a podcast in it, if you go into audacity and try to open a file it’ll be under music -> itunes -> itunes media
Unlike music it’s not encrypted so you can edit in audacity in a way you couldn’t with like, a taylor swift song
Oh um hi. ^^; I'm thinking of doing voice acting. So I was curious what programs or tech do you use? You know, for reference.
Ah, well good on you! :D It’s definitely a lot of fun, and it gives you an excuse to hold long conversations with yourself. XD
As far as what programs or tech I use:
Program: Audacity - A free-source audio editor. I’ve used this since my college days, and it’s got some nifty editing effects. It’s not super advanced like other programs, but it gets the job done.
Tech: Blue Yeti Mic - Recently got this for last Xmas. Nice professional-grade mic. What I like about this is that it has four different input settings when recording, so it reduced background noise reduction.
OBVIOUSLY THE MIC I have is optional - I got it as a gift and it’s pretty expensive. My advice to you would be to do some research on more affordable microphones (which I should’ve done before buying my last mic before the new one. >__>;; ) You should try to get one that reduces as much background noise as possible. It helps a lot and is easier on the ears. There’s also tutorials online on how to reduce background noise, if you have the time to look it up.
Same logic applies to Audacity - I only use it because I’ve had it since college, and it’s easier on the wallet. I’m sure there’s plenty more audio programs that are good, if not better. Whatever tickles your fancy I suppose.
